On Wednesday, the Cubs play an intra-sqaud scrimage with Guzman facing off against Hill.

I'm ready for some baseball.

Found this little note on Guzman in the Trib.

Top pitching prospects Angel Guzman and Rich Hill are the starters in Wednesday's intrasquad game, although they will go only for an inning or so. Shoulder problems have curtailed Guzman's rise, making him a question mark despite his obvious talent.

Pitching coach Larry Rothschild told manager Dusty Baker that Guzman is back to where he was before his injuries. Still, Guzman is a dark horse to make the club out of spring training.

"If he's healthy, he's probably more than a sleeper, but he needs to pitch," Baker said. "Even though he has the skill and ability, he needs the innings. . . . He also needs the endurance, being in all kinds of adverse situations to learn how to deal with it when he gets here. The main thing is we want him healthy too."

Not to start an intrasquad game thread here, but Guzman went 1-2-3 in the first, getting Pie to pop out and striking out Neifi and Grissom.

Thanks, Bruce. Feel free to provide live, up to the minute updates any time.

Can I look forward to a report on the game tomorrow morning on the Herald's website?

Hill is wild. Walks to Pierre and Walker followed by a 2-RBI double by Lee to left-center. I'll write about it for tomorrow and provide updates as I can today.

... and striking out Neifi and Grissom.

Get use to the sound of that Cub fans.

No thanks. Grissom won't make the team and Neifi won't get enough at bats to make me care.

Your A team lineup is: Pierre, Walker, Lee, Ramirez, Jones, Barrett, Murton, Cedeno and Hairston as DH

Boy that #5 hitter sticks out like a swollen middle finger.

In the top of 2, Wellemeyer gets Restovich on a called third strike, McGehee on a fly to center and Blanco on a fly to left. He had the hitters out in front with offspeed.

And he will spend his season... ?
