...we are going to the Krewe of Centaur Ball (not by choice) and he is the Grand Marshall. I hope he is a little more personable than he has been in the past, but I suppose I speak for the majority of us Cub fans when I tell him how much we appreciate players like him who sacrifice $$$ because they WANT to be a Cub.

Please tell him that not every Cub fan dislikes him randomly and that we all appreciate him signing here because he wanted to be apart of a winning team even though it meant not starting, and he resigned expecting to start and we think its ridiculous that they are trying to trade him.

But hypocritically, also ask him to cover a little more ground on the right side of the IF this year, and tell him to stop underhanding the ball to other fielders please.

Ask him if he'll come online and do a Q&A for us.

Seconded.

And thank him for what he's done for us the last couple years. I'll never forget his Superman slide to win the Oakland game in 2004, or the time he blew a cycle in Houston - by hitting a second home run instead of getting the double he needed.

Right after hitting a ball down the line that was a half foot foul and bounced into the stands. That was hilarious.

And gave Roger Clemens his first loss of the season. :)

Ok, I am going to ask him. I'll tell him it is the Cubs version of "SoSH," which this place pretty much seems to be. I am sure he knows about that site from his Red Sox days.

Please, tell me who he needs to get in touch with or whatever, and I will put it on the back of my card. That would be pretty damned cool....

I was at that game, and ran into Todd the next day in the Houston Galleria and chatted with him for a bit.

tim@northsidebaseball.com - though the deputies would work as well I'm sure.

Just got back, and the ball is in his court. I gave him my card (I relace baseball gloves on the side) and hopefully he will give me a call. I won't be holding my breath, because I kinda got the feeling he MIGHT have a lot on his mind. He seemed pretty touched when I told him we all pretty much love his desire to be a Cub, and the sacrifices he made to take whatever role to be in Wrigley. Got a strange feeling that he knows his days are over as a Cub. Maybe not, but I hope he is our 2nd baseman. I have bumped into him in the past, and he wasn't too personable, but he was really friendly tonight.

He seems to be getting jerked around.

If I were Todd, I'd be doing the same thing. Soaking up all the fan love and thanking them. Honestly, this has to be the dumbest thing the Cubs have done in my six years as a fan - even though Todd knows he's our best option at second, even though just about every Cub fan (except perhaps for Edward K.) knows he is the best option at second, and even though he's indisputably our best lefty bat (sorry Jacque), he has to deal with these trade rumors following him around. Poor guy.
