Seattle vs. Pittsburgh.

Go Bettis.

I wasn't going to say who was in it, but yeah ^

I like Pittsburgh and their staff. I respect Bill Cowher as a coach, and I think it would be nice for him to win a championship. I also respect the hell out of Jerome Bettis and would like him to get a ring before he retires. He just goes out there every game and lets his play do his talking for him.

I also like Seattle. I still like Mike Holmgren and would like to see him win another Super Bowl. I think he's a great coach. I like watching Matt Hasselbeck play, and I feel bad for Seattle's fans having such a crappy team this year. I'd like to see them win once just for the fans.

So, I guess I'm saying I have no rooting interest and would feel good with either team winning.

???

Sorry, that should have read "I feel bad for Seattle's fans have such crappy teams in past years." I was half paying attention when I typed that.

I guess I'm a sucker for teams who play in a championship game who have a history of losing. Wonder why that is.

I can honestly say I've been on the Steelers' bandwagon since the last few weeks of the regular season. I really did think they were one of the most dangerous teams in the playoffs.

I agree with the comments on Bettis. I want the Steelers to win so the Bus finally gets his ring. But I really wouldn't mind Seattle either. I'd just prefer the classy Bettis to get his due.

I'm with truffle. I'm sick of changing what team i root for every week.

This week its: Go Pittsburgh.

agree with you on both points. This whole NFL season has been probably the worst for me since the 2000 season. This year's SB can't be as bad as that one, can it?

Go Steelers.

Bettis is Number 5 all-time in rushing and is probably one of the most underrated players in history. I still gleefully recall his ridiculous game against Florida in the "Cheerios Bowl". I really hope he retires a champ.

And the MAC fan in me also wants to see Roethlisberger get one. :)

This should be a good match-up.

Pittsburgh defense had played well. They had to play Cincy, who was a good offense, but then that didn't tell me much, since Palmer went down with the injury. Still, they held the Bengals to 17 points.

Then Pittsburgh went to Indy, to face the Colts, who had alot of weapons on all positions, and they still managed to keep the Colts 18 points.

Then they go to Denver, and played very sold aganist the Broncos. Held them to 17 points.

Of course, on the other hand, none of those teams have a running back/ offensive line combo like Seattle does.

Only the Chiefs could match it.

My unbridled hatred for all things Pittsburgh has morphed into a resentful respect for the Steelers.

Bettis will not be denied.

Tsk, tsk! Tom Landry is rolling in his grave right now! ;-)

J.R. keep walking towards the light. I married into a family of Cowboy fans and nothing makes me happier than walking into the house with Steeler gear on. Correction, the only thing that will make me happier is walking in their with Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh gear on.

As a Cub fan and South Carolina fan, I don't often have the occasion to have my team in a championship. Its been a hell of a run so far. I just hope the guys aren't satisfied with just getting Bussie to the big game. Cowher and this generation of Rooneys (not to mention a desperate fan base) really need this thing. Badly.

My fiancee is really pissed because I told her I wasn't going to any Super Bowl parties because I don't think I stand to be around anyone during the game. I'll be too nervous/irritable/excitable to handle anyone, other than die hard Steeler fans. Maybe I'll drive up to Pittsburgh and watch the game there.

The only thing I can say is THANK GOD the Panthers lost. I don't think I could deal with all the bandwagon jumping Panthers fans for two weeks.

Go Steelers!

I must admit that I'm just a casual Cowboys fan with no real ties to the team other than my moniker, so it's not that big a leap. It was tough to get past all my Cubs-related hate for the city of Pittsburgh, though.

I guess I can't get with that hate since I grew up in the 'burgh. I will say marrying a Texan was the smartest thing I ever did.

I'm starting to feel the same way. I've been going to the same Super Bowl party for several years, and I'm probably going to again, but right now I just want to sit 12 inches from my TV at home, with nobody else there, and concentrate fully.

I keep having this thought of everyone else critiquing commercials and making fun of the halftime show and all of the other stuff I usually do, except this year when that happens I might explode.
