Jan. 2 - 4 College Football Bowl Games Discussion

I'm pretty proud of the way the Big East played in the bowls. 1-3 but every game was close and I think Louisville would have won if they had their starting QB in there. Not bad for the first year and it's only going to get better.

 

Hunter Cantwell did a great job for Louisville...he's about as tough as they come. What a way to step up in a pressure situation.

 

And Marcus Vick is a punk with absolutely no class. How can everyone in the world see him stomp his cleat into Dumervil's calf but none of the officials did? What a loser......

 

He just got out of prison so maybe he thought Dumervil was going to take his smokes?

 

I can't believe Syracuse knocked your QB out for the year. :x

If Vince Young returns, Texas has to be #1. I can't see ND ranked that high with that defense. And LSU is in my top 3.

That's what I thought you were trying to say - they'll probably finish next year in the top 10, especially with that defense. I think Cal will win the Pac 10 next year.

the gonzalez ball was not a catch. when transferring the ball he never had full control. If he would have caught the ball and held it above his head for 2 steps than it would be a catch but. in the act of taking the ball down and tucking it away you lose the ball you never really had control. I probably didnt explain it correctly but I hope you get what I mean.

 

I long ago quit caring if announcers have some sort of bias. they are fans just like us and alot of times their passion makes them better announcers. so if some of that passion comes at the stack of being bias, so be it. with musberger and the smith thing you have to realize that on a national perspective quinn was considered the better qb. anyone who seen smith play the last 4 or 5 games already knew that smith was better and musberger probably was just trying to get the rest of the nation up to speed.

 

One last thing, i know there is alot of controversy about osu with money and grade and graduation and all, but does any coach get his players better prepared for a big game then jim tressel. in reality they really hammered nd yesterday, i knew they would win and probably cover the spread but was really shocked how one sided the game really was. the only thing that kept nd in the game was osu mistakes. the only mistake that nd forced was probably the blocked fg

I really think that if a player takes cash from a booster, his college career should be over. That's as blatant a violation as there can be in college sports, and a player can't plead ignorance. I have no idea how accepting booster money equals a two-game suspension... that is ridiculous.

Reminds me of Ron Powlus. I think he was predicted to win the Heisman all 4 years. That really panned out. Two reasons why I don't get overly excited about recruiting class ranks. They really can't be graded until at least two years down the road, IMO

With all 3 LB's gone, and Santonio Holmes gone, I wouldn't put OSU #1. If Vince Young comes back it should be:

1. Texas

2. ND

3. OSU

4. LSU

5. USC

 

The Irish D needs to improve, but with everyone back on offense they can win games with offense like USC and Texas have all season.

I'll be shocked if Vince Young doesnt return. Assuming he does the Texas offense will surpase USC's this season, and with a whole lot more weapons. Of course no one weapon will be better than Reggie Bush.

No underclassman has left Mack Brown early from Austin, apparently - Vince is as good a player as any to leave early though. Vince needs to work on his throwing mechanics, but that's better fixed at the pros, imo. He should be a top 5 pick despite his mechanics.

I would agree with that. he won't be able to outrun everyone in the pros. bush won't either. it will be interesting to see how they adjust their styles.

pretty much what he states. if Texas wins I think he might take longer to make an official decision. if Texas loses I am pretty positive he comes back with a chance to win everything including Heisman.
