I'm hoping that this is a case of the Cubs trying to light a fire with some of the teams they have been talking to about a trade. I just can't see this team as being good.

Dusty lineup:

Pierre

Perez

Lee

Ramirez

Jones

Murton

Barrett

Cedeno

This is a joke? its April 1st? Oh no its just another off-season watching this inept org make itself worse. He has blown it again. Totally out of ideas and clueless how to make us better.

It's just another rumor WiE. I think the Cubs still have a lot of options and time before Opening Day.

Its so frusrtating though Cuse, Plan A NEVER works out with Hendry and he is always down to plan Z by Jan and we are left with people like burntiz and jones playing everyday.

If it does come down to plan Z you won't be the only one upset. This is my make or break season with Mr. Hendry and he had the money and resources to make this a better team and he better do it.

Why would teams care that he's interested in Jones?

If Hendry is in talks about a deal with a team and it's going nowhere maybe looking at Jones might get them to give him what he wants or come back to the bargining table.

I honestly don't believe we have enough talent on the books to make a trade that will vastly improve the team. If you deal hill, pie, guzman, walker williams etc you are really stretched if injuries occur etc. He should of been in on that Was/ Tex deal instead of glowing about JP.

What really will be enjoyable will be the days that Neifi and Mabry start for Cedeno and Murton.

Also known as weekdays, right?

This is a hitter with a career .258 EqA and over the last two seasons has pulled off two adj. OPS of .717 and .736.

We need Chuck to tell Hendry how medicore and overpaid Jones will become if the Cubs signed him. :)

No thanks.

Correct. Also, you can't expect the two rooks to do well against RHP just because they did in the minor leagues. They'll need to rest against RHP. I look for this lineup:

Pierre

Perez

Lee

Ramirez

Jones

Barrett

Mabry

Hairston

Awesome...

You worry every off-season, if you feel the Cubs value certain things higher and lower than you. I'm not surprised by the Jones pursuit simply b/c of that and previous interest, of course. Edited by UK

You know, the sad thing for those of us who've been Cub fans since the 60's is that we actually HAVE decent starting pitching FINALLY, and each year those arms go to waste because of the lack of a couple key position players that could take us over the top.

It truly is frustrating
