The Blue Jays have acquired Lyle Overbay and a prospect from the Brewers in exchange for David Bush, Gabe Gross and Zach Jackson, according to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal.

No Shea Hillenbrand. This is a better deal for Milwaukee, even if they wouldn't seem to have any use for Gross, not with Corey Hart and Nelson Cruz also around. Bush will go right into the rotation. Jackson, a left-hander chosen 32nd overall in 2004, was one of the Jays' top pitching prospects. He's a year away, but he could be a No.

This deal just got a heck of a lot better for Milwaukee.

It got better for both teams -- the Brewers were going to spin Hillenbrand for pitching anyway.

IMO, Fielder is not ready to be a starting. Overbay was being payed pennies and might have drawn more interest around the AS break. If I am Melvin, I wait till late June and start workin the phones. Good pickup by Toronto, Overbay can flat out hit!

A true fan favorite in Milwaukee also...not a good move IMO.

I like Gross and he will be a decent 275/350 15 HR guy that can play defense. Bush is a very nice pickup too and I don't know about Jackson. If these are needs for the Brewers they just helped themselves and so did the Jays.

IIRC, Gross had a stellar ST LY

Good deal for both sides. Brewers got young, cheap players. No reason for them to take the Boston deal for Clement. Bush is decent. And the other pitcher they got sounds pretty good. Much better than Hillenbrand. He, Koskie or Hinske will be available now for minor leaguers.
