Oh sweet mercy....he could never play CF. He would 8 hope the 2nd base bag. WOW!

huh? nomar still has an arm. not the most accurate arm, but he wouldn't have a problem getting it far enough

As big of fan of Nomar I am, he is NO outfielder. He always throws off balance and usually side arm. Not what you want in an outfielder trying to nail down the winning run at home plate.

I read earlier on MSNBC that Nomar's agent approached the Yankees and said he would play any position, including center. The Yankees apparently have no interest in him for center, but may have interest in signing him if he is still available after they address other needs. apparently, he intrigues tham as a DH/SuperSub to spell any infielder and even maybe a corner outfielder if they have any injuries.

Someone provided a quote earlier from a New York newspaper that suggested that St. Louis might be interested in him at 2nd..

Great. I was wondering how long that would take.

They'll lose Grudz, then sign Nomar reaaaaaal cheap (has anyone even heard his name being mentioned... what's his going price?). He'd go back to .330 AVG days if he played for them.

Oh, and a Gold Glove  .

Has anyone noticed that of all the rumors involving Nomar this off season, not a single one has him playing SS? I've heard CF, RF, 2B, 3B....

I really think we should take a chance on Nomar again.

Now that we have Pierre and don't need a leadoff hitting SS, I think it would be a good idea to bring Nomar back at reasonable salary with incentives.

A lineup with Pierre, Murton, Nomar, D Lee, Aramis, Barrett, Cedeno... could be pretty productive

The interesting thing about the Yankee rumor is that if they signed Nomar they would have all 3 of the "great" SS (Jeter, Arod, & Nomar) in the AL.

You forgot to add "4 years ago" to that sentence.

And the funny part would be that they wouldn't even have the best SS in the AL at this point if they do that.

If the Yankees are truly interested in Nomar, I think the best course of action would be to shift Jeter to CF, put Arod at SS, and install Nomar at 3b. I think Jeter has the range to play CF, it would put the game's best SS at SS, and Nomar should be able to play an adequate thirdbase.

But torre is... well, I guess it's not entirely fair to say he's a coward because he won't do that...

I could totally see Nomar playing 2b for the Yankees or Cardinals. If he signs with the Cardinals he will become the hitting champion again of course. I can see it now :)
