  1. OMG, they are saying Weeks isn't part of the deal! If not, this is ridiculous and Krivstky basically traded him for a relief pitcher in Wise? WOW
  2. At least you know they will trade within the division.
  3. Another positive to this deal is Dunn would be a rental and they would also weaken their offense next year by getting rid of Weeks.
  4. Que? How's this known? Someone that has close relations to the Brewers just said the deal is near official. I think I am going to die inside. http://www.realgm.com/boards/baseball/viewtopic.php?t=3284&start=0 I'll definitely give up on the division chase if true, but I'd rather wait for something more substantial. Conceding the division if the Brewers get Dunn is ridiculous. It's not like he's ARod or Vlad or something. I know people love Dunn around here, but c'mon. .257AVG .361OBP. Not the Dunn he was 2 years ago IMO.
  5. Dunn going to the Brewers isn't the end of the world. Wise is also one of their better relief pitcher and this move would make them more weak there.
  6. His career numbers batting 5th have been bad. Bad idea from the get-go but I'm glad Lou did see it wasn't working out and made the move. He's barely even hit 5th, but the one year he did hit 5th for a decent amount he was much better in that spot than leadoff. He's had 583 AB hitting 5th in his career. .268 avg .312 obp. When he did play 5th more than leadoff in 2005 his numbers were similar: Leadoff: 98 AB 4HR 7RBI .276AVG .301OBP 5th: 497 AB 30HR 93RBI .270 .315OBP
  7. Why didn't the Cubs just cut Izturis if they wanted to open up a roster spot? Maybe by trading them they are not on the hook for his buyout which i believe is 200k or 500k, but I could be wrong.
  8. You're right. This is all on Hendry for starting this mess in the first place. We should have never traded for Izturcrap in the first place.
  9. His career numbers batting 5th have been bad. Bad idea from the get-go but I'm glad Lou did see it wasn't working out and made the move.
  10. I've liked what I've seen from Gallagher. If Marquis doesn't shape up I would love for Sean to take his place in the rotation.
  11. Per Bruce Levine, Lou has said Soriano will not be hitting 5th any longer. That experiment is over.
  12. Yeah, I think they chose Fox because he's the best option of people that could handle 1B, and then send him back when Dempster comes off the DL. With Ward and DeRosa, they've kind of got 1B covered, though. But maybe they don't want to bring up Cedeno or Murton just for a few days. On the other hand, wouldn't Gallagher be the one to go down when Dempster comes back? I can see a scenario where Gallagher or Petrick gets demoted when Dempster comes back and then Fox to be demoted for Cedeno after the return of Lee.
  13. I'm so happy to see that fool gone. He brought absolutely nothing here. We improved our team just by getting rid of the guy. I'm so happy right now!
  14. Some teams like having veteran depth during the stretch run as well. Lugo and Izzy have remarkably similar numbers this year. Both have exactly a .602 OPS and Izzy has about a 10 point advantage in OBP. Lugo, quite obviously, has been better throughout his career but the Sox may think he'd have a chance to be an upgrade this year splitting time with Lugo. If Hendry is willing to part with him cheaply, I think it may be a possibility. Lugo has been bad this year but at least the guy has been productive. Izturis with men on base has been horrible as in .100 avg horrible.
  15. Bruce Levine said Izturis is close to being traded on ESPN1000. He might be gone? If so, YES!
  16. Since Gallagher was used yesterday he won't be able to pitch for at least 3-4 days. I'm thinking he got sent down and Fox was sent up until Dempster is off the DL and Fox gets sent back down. Since Lee was injured recently this makes the most sense.
  17. I'm one of the biggest Hendry haters around and I think he doesn't sign Kendall to an extension. That being said, there's a good chance Hendry isn't even around next year. I'm not worried about Kendall being here next year and truthfully, if he's going to be as bad as he was the last time out he's going to be a goner even before the season finishes.
  18. They are getting Weeks for Dunn. Wise isn't a bad pitcher either. I don't see it as bad as some of you do.
  19. Hendry on ESPN1000. Very interesting stuff. If we have room to make moves it isn't much from what Hendry says. http://espn-mp3-od.andomedia.com/espnpod2/espnradio/waddlesilvy/waddlesilvy070718.mp3
  20. Jeez, who needs Kendall when you have Hill ha ha.
  21. I can't verify if this is true but according to the notes below there are restrictions on acquiring new players. Also looks like Hendry is not part of any talks with Z's agent? That seems very strange. http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/story/2007/7/18/113058/348
