Marquis had a quality start. Can't complain much. Probably has more to do with how bad Dback's offense is but still :)

The blame never was put squarely on Jones shoulders but let's not forget how bad he was until recently. I'm glad to see him doing good though for a couple of reasons. Not the least of which is that he's the only CF in the organization that is likely in the second half to post an OPS v. RHP of > .800. If Jones can be productive and put up similar numbers like last year against righties it would be hard to beat in CF. I'm also not opposed to Pie being called up and Jones traded but if I had to choose between the two it would be a productive Jones for this year.

exactly what I said..Id rather put in marmol or howry..who knos what dempster will be like coming back from injury Do you guys know if Demp has pitched 1 or 2 consecutive innings in the minors before being activated? I know he pitched yesterday.

Damn it! I thought Marquis was a ground out specialist? All of his balls are getting hit up in the air, especially that homer.

I agree. Lately, there has been talk about how Theriot isn't an everyday player but his number suggest that he is. He can play 2B and SS and considering the hole we had as our starting SS earlier this year, Theriot has been a positive on this team. The guy won't give you power but he's good at stealing bases, takes pitches, gets on base and I've been happy to see him as our starting SS.

Good stuff. What did the Cubs expect out of Floyd? The guy is as injury prone as they come.

Agreed. If Jones can give us numbers like he did last year we would be getting very good production from CF. Truthfully, even if Jones is gone and Pie is our starting CF, I'm fine with that too.

Yeah, I think we should wait. When our injured players come back I think we will see Cedeno called up.

Cedeno's clearly not going to get a chance. Might as well trade him. Let's see how everything settles when Demp, Lee, and Ward come back.
