  1. I'm sure its temporary. Gammons said he anticipated it would be for the year and compared Schilling to Smoltz. If that's the case it might make him the most expensive RP.
  2. I'm sure its temporary.
  3. I agree. Baker has no damn clue.
  4. And in Dusty's mind, Cedeno doesn't exist. How could they have had discussions to bring Cedeno up and not play him? What is the purpose of him being called up?
  5. Can we create pettition to fire dusty and send it to Hendry? Just a thought.
  6. I'm shocked. I'm pretty sure Dusty is doing this on purpose to show us the fans who runs the show. Hendry has to fire this guy. He actually might've gone insane.
  7. So a least we know for certain that Hairston is in the doghouse. Seriously, how can Hendry not fire this guy on the spot already?
  8. Are you joking me? This must be a joke? Even by Dusty's standards this is terrible. What a farce, this whole thing is jut utterly ridiculous right now. No words can express the anger I have towards this organization right now. Hendry grow some balls and fire this trash manager!!!
  9. Yeah, like a RP is our main problem right now. I woudl worry about the offense and manager first.
  10. Dusty resigned? God, I hope not.
  11. That's the difference between and idiot like Dusty Baker as opposed to a good manager like Cox. I'm sure the GMs also have something to do with it as well.
  12. Sorry, but consistent and 5 era do not go together.
  13. We can thank the moron Dusty for that.
  14. We needed help in April but Hendry did not make the right moves. This entire situation was predicted. We're in bad shape right now.
  15. Look on the bright side folks, we go against Smoltz tomorrow. Oh wait...
  16. 65% Dusty 35% Hendry I won't even rehash the innumberable reasons why Dusty is more to blame than Hendry again in this thread. Go back a few pages, it's all there. (or as much of it as I felt like typing out) Dusty wanted Hawkins as closer. He could very well have started Mitre and left Demp as closer.
  17. The Trib is spending alot of money for this crap, and I doubt they are too happy. I'll go out on a limb and say that if the Cubs win less than 2 of the remaining games before the ASB, Dusty gets the axe. You think they would eat Dusty's $4M next year that fast? For some reason I think Hendry actually agrees with Dusty's managerial moves. He is the one that supplies Dusty with the players. If Dusty goes Hendry needs to get the Axe on the same day. Do you honestly think that Dusty doesn't have a big say in personnel decisions? He has almost all of the say in who gets called up/ sent down, and all of the say in who plays. Hendry is not without blame, but Dusty deserves the lion's share of it. It wasn't Dusty's fault that Hendry failed to fill big holes over the off season and left him with a less than avg. bench. Also, not Dusty's fault that Hendry made few improvements to the bullpen. Hendry should take as much blame as Dusty. But I would like to see both of them go. That may be, but for every problem Hendry created by non-action, Dusty has exacerbated twice over with his greivous ineptitude. Remember Chad Fox, who everyone knew was not to pitch consecutive days early in the season? Well, we know how that turned out. Remember in ST when Hendry and others were saying that Dempster should be the closer so Hawk could go back to the role he was comfortable in? Well, we know how that turned out. Remember when Dubois was ripping the ball and was white hot and we watched Holla hit .200 for a month? We have a decent leadoff hitter in Hairston and an excellent 2 hole hitter in Walker, and yet we watch Perez and Patterson languish at the top of the order while Lee's prowess goes wasted? You see how a white-hot Cedeno was brought up and promptly mired on the bench in favor of an ice cold Perez? And on, and on, and on. Hendry as much to blame as Baker? I don't think so. I blame both of them. Twiddle-dee and Twiddle-dum.

Hendry is not without blame, but Dusty deserves the lion's share of it. I remember when the guy wanted Matt Williams to be our 3B. Granted, we had a bad situation at 3b at the time but come on Matt Williams was striggling. Good thing he decided to retire or else we might not have ARam right now. I'd also bet the farm that Hendry envisioned a whole lot more PT for Cedeno when he called him up, and he deserves it. But what can you do? The better options are there on the roster, but it's Dusty who has them anchored to the bench. All Hendry has to do is fire Dusty. Problem solved.

  20. It's Dusty's fault that Neifi & Corey are getting any playing time right now. They both are flat out awful. Corey should be a PH off the bench and/or defensive replacement late in the game @ best. Some people here think Cedeno should be playing everyday over Neifi. I would be OK with a platoon situation. Neifi 2 starts, Cedeno 2 starts. It's clear that many of Dusty's decisions this year has cost this team games. The players have to perform, but the manger has to put them in the best possible scenario to succeed & that is not happening. We are all Cub fans & want to see this team win & suceed, but it might be best if the Cubs continue this torrid play for a week or more, so JH decides he has finally had enough & cans him. I'm not sure if that would happen, but he has 3 guys that are capable of taking over as interim manger right now: Rothchild,Pole & Little. Where the heck is Cedeno? I mean come on I thought he was going to be called up so that he can be used. What a farce.
  21. Seriously, are Hendry and Baker that dumb that they cannot see some of these guys should not be in their current roles? I mean seriously these fools have no clue.
  22. ANother wasted opportunity by the good ol' cubs. 2003 was an anomaly.
  23. I hope he gets traded or benched because 9mil for next year is wayyy tooo much for a pitcher who is a shell of his former self. Hendry should've never gave an option for a 3rd year. Two was enough.
  24. hot Dusty needs to go.
  25. It may be time to blow the team up, fo r the sake of next year. I'm not usually melodramtic, but we may be seeing the end of the season over the next few days. Baker has to be the first to go. Agreed. We might be in 4th place by week's end.
