  1. Yup. That's why I would like to have Huff on our team.
  2. And the Cubs continue to completely own Willis in Florida while not having a chance against him at Wrigley. Match made in heaven? I hate that fact that we traded him, so I try not to think about it haha.
  3. Get that All-Star pitcher out of there!!
  4. See, Murton is exactly the type of hitter we need on this need.
  5. Something just isn't right with Z.
  6. Murton!!! Future All-Star!!! OK, who knows but it could be a good sign.
  7. Who else would play 2b now that Hairston and Walker are playing other positions though? Now if Walker wasnt at 1B then I would complain.
  8. How can Nomar not sign back with us for cheap. I mean the guy got the money from us and probably didnt even have 50 at-bats for us.
  9. I personally think that we are done for.
  10. What do you think about that situation between playing the kids over the veterans? Do you think Hendry has had discussions with Baker about playing the kids? Or do you think Hendry is insinuating it to Baker by calling up the kids one by one? Thanks
  11. OT, but is anyone else surprised at how much Brenly has seemed to be the voice of reason in terms of playing youth? I am. Although his analysis hasn't been as good as I thought it would be, some of his ideas and opinions have pleasently surprised me. I expected him to be a pure company man and defend Dusty for basically everything that happened. He's consistently criticized the Cubs for not being patient enough at the plate instead of just the "well you've gotta be agressive" that I expected from him. His thoughts on young players have been surprising and refreshing. He seems like a straight-up honest guy. I enjoyed listening to him when he was on the Score.
  12. Truth be told, we know about our offensive woes but our starting pitching hasn't been as good as advertised.
  13. The season indeed is over if you ask me, but here are some things I personally would like to see: Try whatever you can to trade Maddux and his contract. If this is done we would have enough money to sign a top tier pitcher like Burnett. Try and trade for Huff. I think this should be a priority. I'm really high on Huff and he would bring the type of offense we need in the OF. Resign Dempster. Having Demp and Williamson as closer and set-up would make our 8-9th innings solid. Some of our young guys have been promising, but other have been inconsistent. Maybe sign another solid veteran. I'm iffy on resigning Nomar. Getting a Nomar that is healthy greatly improves this team, but if we are going to have a debacle similar to this year forget it. We need to try out Cedeno to see if he is our future SS, and if he pans out what's the point of resigning Nomar? See if Matt Murton works out in the OF. If he does we have somebody to replace Burnitz in RF. I think these moves/trades would improve this team and easily make us a playoff contender. EDIT: Possible Lineup: Hairston 2B Cedeno SS Lee 1B ARam 3B Huff LF Murton/Dubois RF Patterson CF Barrett PITCHER
  14. If we want to believe it or not, our season is over. Bruce Levine was just on ESPN and he pretty much said we are not looking for temporary fixes through trades. If we are going to make trades it is going to be for young guys who have long-term potential like MacDougal. I think we should try really hard to get Huff. He would seriously fit right in. He also mentioned that all GMs who talk to Hendry, the first thing they ask for is Matt Murton over our other prospects. That should say a lot right there. A nice story would've been to have Murton in LF, Dubois in RF, and Corey in CF, but unfortunately, 2/3 have not been living up to expectations.
  15. How true that article is.
  16. Its about time that somebody in the organization finally took notice because we have been hollering about this for quite some time.
  17. Yeah, but at least they don't get shutout like we do. Injuries or not.
