  1. Wood=Right shoulder stiffness. What else is new.
  2. If Wood is injured again and needs to go on the DL we should dump his ass. This is ridiculous.

  4. No, because Dusty does not use logic.
  5. Leave it to Dusty to come up with the jacked up lineups.
  6. Or save money and re-sign Dempster. And if this trade goes down, poor Rich Hill (and his HR rate). Because his walk rate that hes shown in all but the last 26.2 innings still scares the bejesus out of me. I would like to sign him as a set up man, and am loving what he is doing right now, but I'm leary of his sustainability. Although I think his saves/chances stat is going to command him decent money on the market (for less than a year's worth of experience) which is why I think Ryan will also be the better value. Spending 10M on the entire outfield should leave us financially sound to spend the extra money on Ryan. While I too am not completely sold on Dempster yet, he should come much cheaper than BJ Ryan, which is why I'd prefer Dempster. BJ Ryan will not be available.
  7. The trade makes sense for the Reds and is pretty steep, but I would do it even if it costs Rich Hill. Dunn is a gamer.
  8. Damn talk about gelling. Our team has been playing great lately.
  9. Maybe we are desparate for a RP but not a closer since Dempster has been great so far. THey just replayed the interview 2 seconds ago. BTW, Hendry agrees on having Walker in the 2 spot.
  10. I wonder if 1 more trip through the rotation with long outings would be enough to convince people that 7 relievers is a waste. Remlinger has 4 IP in 4 outings in July. About 4 guys have had just 1 inning of work since the break. This is seriously not good for the bullpen. Cubs==Terminally Dumb. Meanwhile, Ben Grieve is a quality PH option on the bench who we jettison, AND we keep Jose Macias as one alternative. Dumb dumb dumb. Does Grieve have lice or something?? NO, it's called the Baker factor.
  11. I have no interest in a rental regardless of how the team plays before the deadline. If they can acquire an impact long term improvement, they should. Agreed. No reason to trade for a rental.
  12. If we can end up with either Huff or Dunn in LF it would be nice to see Murton be fulltime in RF or vice-versa.
  13. It seems like some of you are happy trading Dubois for what some of you call a move to solidify our bench. If that's the case this trade is ridiculous. I'm holding hope that this is a trade to get us Huff or Dunn. I can live with Gerut in LF but he is not 100% healthy yet and we all know the crap lineups Dusty will have out in LF now.
  14. The overuse of their pitchers probably has caught up to them. Robinson rides them hard.
  15. There has to be another trade good or bad. We have a plethora of OF right now.
  16. Well, technically speaking, Dubois would count as one of our OF's. :P Yes, but we just added one. You can only play 3 OF and we have: Burnitz Hairston/Corey Hollandworth Gerut Grieve Murton
  17. Something just doesnt stack up. I'm almost certain one of our OFs will be good as gone, who and when and how remains to be seen.
  18. Let's hope this doesn't turn out to be a Bear Bay for Bartosh trade. SO far Cleveland is 1/1 this year in trades with us.
  19. No way..Gerut is a local boy who wasnt doing too bad last year until he got hurt. Wow.
  20. If we give up peanuts I think it might be worth it. But he isnt worth a decent prospect.
  21. Yeah, but how do you expect to get Hairston and Walker in the same lineup when they play the same position? It pretty much took a slumping Corey to be demoted for it to happen. I can't lay the blame on Dusty for that one. Stone should know that though shouldn't he?
  22. He's the pitching equivelant of Corey Patterson *ducks* (only kidding...) no he isn't he's white. No way will Chicago turn on him like it has our players the past 4 years. Are you implying Cubs fans are racist? kinda makes one wonder. Alf Sosa Hawkins Patterson but as pointed out Hundley got it bad. But we also loved Sosa (when he was good), gave Alou a break when he sucked in 2002 and stretches of the next two years despite a big contract. We hated Alf, Sosa, Hawkins, Patterson because they sucked We also hated Estes when he sucked too And Hundley
