  1. I don't know if I believe him. He wasn't exactly lighting it up this offseason when he was playing in the Dominican.
  2. Well at least they are giving their young players a shot to stay in the majors. I wish we gave our younger players more time than having the quick hook with them time and time again.
  3. yes please to both, thank you I've never understood the struggles Garcia has had sticking with a team consistently. He's not a great QB, but he's been successful everywhere he's gone and he's got a career 61.6 completion % and a 2 to 1 career TD:INT ratio. He wasn't successful with the Browns or Detroit and let's face it he's getting old. I think he would be a better fit for the Vikings.
  4. I don't know if it was posted but Booker has been released.
  5. We need a loogy who is better than Cotts because Cotts basically sucked against lefties last year.
  6. I'm tired of people saying that we have improved this offseason. How the heck do you know Heilman is going to be better than Marquis when Heilman has minimal starts in the majors and when he did start he sucked? We're going from DeRosa to Fontenot and Miles and although Fontenot was good last year in minimal at bats I seriously question if he is able to have numbers as good as last year as a starter. The CF position last year was highly productive and I doubt we can match that production from Fukudome and Johnson. Gregg is not better than Wood, period. You really think you will get a full year out of Harden when it's confirmed he has a tear on his already delicate shoulder? Guzman although has a live arm really hasn't done much in the majors yet. As it stands right now Shark won't even be on the 25man roster when the season starts. The only move that we made this offseason that I liked is signing Bradley but as good as he is when he's healthy and playing getting rid off DeRosa basically offsets the upgrade offensively. Instead of making a couple of tweaks to the roster Hendry decided it was a better idea to get rid of some nice pieces and replace them with mediocre ones instead. We go into the season with some serious question marks. To say we improved this offseason is really not looking at the situation realistically.
  7. Like Wood and DeRosa? Hendry has done a terrible job this offseason. He's single handily destroying this roster.
  8. Another dumb move by Hendry. What a terrible offseason. Leave it to Hendry to find ways of making this team worse.
  9. Who knows if it would have made a difference or not but Hill wasn't even the worst starter when he was pulled out of the rotation by Lou when he couldn't find the plate.
  10. It's a shame. At one point a lot of us expected a lot from Hill, Pie and Cedeno.
  11. I blame Hendry for this. If he was a better GM we wouldn't have as many arguments. :)
  12. In the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter who the backup catcher is but why sign a very old catcher as backup when you can use Koyie Hill?
  13. Same with Manny pouting that nobody wants to sign him. Get a grip man, you are asking for 20 million a year for at least 3 years, you're 36 years old and probably only have 2 good years left in you.
  14. This is why Hendry pisses me off to no end. Instead of keeping a top notch player at a higher salary(DeRosa) he instead signs and trades for mediocre players that when you add up their salary together it would have been best to keep the better player with his salary in the first place. I'd rather have DeRo over Miles, Heilman, and Bako.
  15. Money. With the money it cost us to sign Aaron Miles and the trade for Heilman we would have been better off not making those moves and keeping DeRo, especially now that we're looking to sign more bench players.
  16. Wow. I didn't expect Olsen to be part of the deal. I don't know if I like this now. Olsen seemed to be a pretty good trading chip.
  17. I don't think it is teams not taking a chance but more so that these guys are probably asking for too much money and too many years.
  18. He still put up some decent offensive numbers, even without the O-line being strong. He throws a lot of picks, but throws for a lot of yards too. he never had much of a running game, either, did he? Nope. I think he really kinda got a raw deal...franchise QB on an expansion team (lot of hope for success there huh?), and then takes the fall when the team begins to figure itself out. Even if he's not a Bear (doubt he will be), I'm rooting for the guy. I thought Carr would have been very appealing to the Bears after he left Houston but he was horrible for Carolina when Delhomme went down with an injury. I still wouldn't mind him coming here to replace Grossman but I wouldn't be expecting much if anything.
  19. Lottery pick here we come!
  20. I hate to say this but I for one will not be expecting anything from Harden. Now we know why Hendry wanted Peavy so bad. I never liked Marquis but i don't get it why trade him if they knew Harden has a hole in his shoulder? Aside from getting Bradley this offseason has been horrible. We've downgraded so many spots.
  21. The best thing for the Bulls is to keep losing and hopefully win the draft lottery again. Let's face it our veterans are crap. Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Nocioni, Hughes all have been disappointments and it's best to move on. Gordon is probably off the hook since his contract expires this season but we must move Hughes, Hinrich, and Nocioni. They just are not that good. I really don't understand how we were such a good team for a while we these guys? They got paid and it seems their desire fell off the cliff.
  22. Wow this isn't good at all
  23. So much for that :) Probably realized there was no way he was getting traded. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090115&content_id=3745615&vkey=news_tex&fext=.jsp&c_id=tex&partnerId=rss_tex
