As in Kerry Wood? He's damaged goods, it's time to cut bait with him. Enough of these injury prone players who spend more time throwing towel drills than they do playing in a real game.

I know next season we're not going anywhere either so I'm not too happy about that but I'm deeply concerned we might be this bad for a very long time and that is really disturbing. This team will make your hair go gray in a hurry. Our owners suck, our GM sucks really bad, we have a terrible manager who will thankfully be gone at year's end, and we keep relying on injury prone pitchers to make a difference. There is just too many problems in this organization to recover from. Oh yeah, Dempster is terrible and should have been traded at the trade deadline, no question.

Granted, without Lee in the lineup our offense was abysmal, even moreso with ARamis slumping but that doesn't tell the entire story. Our starting pitching has been downright terrible. -
Why in the world would we want edmunds who is the epitome of a Cubs hater? No way do I want him here, no way.

Under your scenerion Hendry would HAVE to sign both Soriano and Lee and one of the big name free agent pitchers. And seeing as I have no confidence in Hendry ability to judge the free agency market, I seriously doubt the Cubs will be any better next yr, and in fact, it wouldn't surprise me if they are WORSE next yr. Agreed.

Hendry is an idiot for not firing Dusty mid-season. It's pretty clear it would have been better that way for this organization, Dusty, and the fans.

I don't feel sorry for him at all. He's a millionaire and he is not living up to his contract. A true athlete would be in much better shape than him.

But a line-up of Pierre CF Giles 2b Lee 1b Ramirez 3b Jones RF Barrett C Murton LF Izturis SS is lacking power. It's not bad, but I think a better line-up can be assembled. That said, I'd get Giles and worry about the other pieces later. We really need to add another offensive bat. Either Giles or Lugo and a power bat in the OF. I would be happy.
