    I happen to fully agree with Stone(I know, I blast him a lot), but you got a true SS, a switch hitter who doesn't strike out and a glod glove fielder vs 2 more months of Maddux. We already have two true SS's on the roster for next year. Switch hitting doesn't matter if the production isn't there. Cedeno & Neifi don't strike out that much, either. Neifi won a GG, too, and we already had him and don't have to pay an extra $4M for him next year. Cedeno isn't a quality SS and Neifi is a backup. What did you think you would get for Maddux for 2 months, along with a No trade clause? Count me among the idiots. I'm not sure what Hendry was supposed to get for a 2 month flyer on an ancient pitcher with little or nothing left in the tank. Not sure what to think about Izturis. I just didn't expect anything more than a marginal prospect or two for 2 months of Mad Dog. Getting a crappy prospect is better than getting a 4mil dollar Izturis. This is a terrible move. I didn't think there were that many players out there who were worse and more overpaid than Neifi was but Hendry struck gold and found one.

    I bet you any money that all GMs are laughing hysterically at this trade. Hendry is a moron. Even I, who felt Hendry sucked didn't think he sucked this bad. This organization is going nowhere fast. By 2008 we will have Neifi clones at all positions.

    Izturis? What a typical Hendry move. I don't mind seeing Maddux gone but for Izturis? What a joke. The worst GM in baseball strikes again.

    I'd understand next season if they were out of contention, but this season seems pretty odd. It's not like Houston is a legit contender. They are 3-7 in their last 10, and closer to the Cubs in the standings than the Cardinals (both in terms of place and games back). They are 7th in the WC standings and have not improved at all since Clements came on. Plus, Roy could make $15m in his final arbitration year this offseason and the team is really old and in line for a major overhaul (only Berkman and Ausmus are signed through 2007). I thought Roy signed an extension last year with the Astros?

    Wasn't it Baylor who did that? It definitely wasn't Baker.

    Hill has only one pitch and that's it. His fastball and change are terrible. If you ask me, he has no future on this team. Hill has decent velocity on his fastball but not a whole lot of movement which makes his location even more important. They were saying his location was excellent at Iowa, but he couldn't keep the ball down or get ahead in the count at all last night. How many times have heard this already? At a certain point you just have to say that his stuff in AAA doesn't translate to the MLB level.

    Rich Hill is very hittable and I dont care what his minor league numbers are, he sucks. Get what you can for him.

    hopefully he suffers from mark prioritis and goes 18-6 with 245 K, 50 BB, 2.43 ERA in 211.1 IP next season That was a long time ago...

    If you aren't going to back up such accusations with anything material, don't bother with the racial comments. Dusty doesn't play Walker and Murton as much because it's summer time now and they don't do well in the heat.
