  1. Baker is an imbecile full of double standards.
  2. I too would rather have Schmidt but I can't justify the signing for longer than 2 years. He's an injury risk and is getting older. Say no to Zito.
  3. I like Giles but man, that guy is ALWAYS injured.
  4. I forgot to mention Edge too.
  5. Ozzie's act is already old.
  6. No way, Neifi was leading off?!?!? And we thought Baker was bad, jeez.
  7. YOu gusy really didn't think Rusch had an injury did you? He just sucks and it's time for him to go, one way or another.
  8. Barber or Steven Jackson for me. Portis' shoulder is jacked and I don't know if this is true or not because my friend told me about it, but he said that was the same shoulder that was jacked up last year.
  9. I laughed at that also this morning! Gimme a break! They'll do it next year when they lower salary to 80 mil.
  10. As the Tigers are about to find out. Watch him pull a Maddux on us not grounf out to the 2B every at bat Well yesterday wasn't a great start. 0-4, first 2 outs were made on the first pitch, in all he swung at every first pitch and his last AB he grounded into a double play. This is exactly what is to be expected from Neifi. I'm just glad that fool is gone.
  11. Just another reason to say that I'm glad Neifi is gone.
  12. c'mon Glendon. throw 10 innings of scoreless ball between now and 8/31 and be on your way to a despearate contender. Mets, I'm looking at you. I was really hoping that Rusch stayed on the DL until the end of next season.
  13. IMO, If we can sign Carlos Lee for LF, leave Pierre in CF, and split time between Murton and Jones, I believe our OF would be improved upon and these are realistic moves. I would also like to see us sign Lugo and have him play SS or 2B and then leave Izturis or Cedeno at the other position. Pierre Lugo Lee ARam Lee Barrett Jones/Murton Izturis/Cedeno PITCHER It's not bad. Our bullpen is good enough where we wouldn't need to sign anybody. If we can sign Schmidt to a 2 year deal and another SP like Lilly or Eaton, I believe those 4 moves(Lee,Lugo,Schmidt,Lilly) would probably put us back into the playooffs. Z Schmidt Lilly Guzman Hill/Marshall/Marmol
  14. I think your percentage is a little high. Of the 40,000 people at any given game, I'm guessing more than 40 are booing at least in part b/c Dusty's black. Dusty deserves to be booed, b/c he sucks. He doesn't deserve racist letters or phone calls or any of that other crap. I think his percentage was about right - maybe even a tad low. It only seems like more than 0.1% of the fans are racist because they are much louder, figuratively and literally, and much more offensive. Like many of the good fans here on NSBB who are in the Chicago area, I've been going to Wrigley for many years. There definitely has been a big change in the past few years. The obnoxious fans who boo incessantly and scream obscenities tend to be "loyal" fans since 2003, or 1998 in some cases. Of all the long-time fans I know, not a single one is among the haters. Haters? I don't think so. It's a fans right to boo and considering how bad this team is, rightfully so.
  15. That does seem to be the new trend. It's the Cubs fans faults for everything!!
  16. And start them Hendry signs them, Baker starts them.
  17. Agreed.
  18. Now that Neifi is gone, Izturis should be next. He's terrible!
  19. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hendry just gained a bit more respect from me for trading one of Dusty's toys.
  20. Probably... An interview with Jim Hendry in the Daytona Beach News-Journal. Easily the highlight: hilarious. I wonder what Hendry's answer was.
  21. I love seing Baker and LaRussa try and outsmart each other. That being said, I felt one of the best moments I've seen was when Baker and LaRussa went at it from dugout to dugout back in 2003.
