  1. No more old school managers please. It's obvious managers like Baker, and Lou are exactly what we DON'T need here anymore.
  2. This is ridiculous. Dusty will not be fired now.
  3. If I were Wood I think I'd be asking why that test wasn't done at the very beginning of the problem last year. With all the tests they've done on him how could this get by for so long? Another medical screw up from this lovely organization.
  4. Let him move on then. I believe Urlacher made him look better than he was anyways.
  5. LIke I said earlier, Wood is damaged good and is done for. His career as a cub is over.
  6. The last time Smith played at a high level was in 2000. From 2001-2004 he was terrible. Payton played at a high level every year that he played besides his last one and he retired at the right time. I don't even have Smith in my top 5, and I believe having him as the top RB of all time is laughable, very. It's pretty obvious Smith was doing more harm to his team than good by extending his career from 2001-2004. I'm a Bears fan and I believe the best to be Jim Brown, w/ Payton 2nd or 3rd. Smith top RB of all time? HAHA not even close.
  7. Sometimes the best deals are the ones you do not make. Let's be ecsatic he declined.
  8. Why? I didn't look at the stats, Hairston's numbers may be a bit better, but if so they probably aren't by much. I should have said that they were similar players, yet Hairston never got this treatment. At least Hairston took a walk from time to time instead of first pitch swinging every single time. Neifi needs to go along with Baker, period.
  9. This is a perfect example as to why Baker being manager is a terrible idea. He holds none of his players accountable, maybe only the rookies.
  10. How do people expect Walker to get to his career numbers when he is not playing on a consistent basis? Baker is doing more harm than good, no question.
  11. I definitely could not have a conversation with this writer face to face. To him, Dusty can do no wrong.
  12. There is no positive to having Dusty on any team. Now, we all know why the Giants were so glad to get rid of him even though he was the manager who made it to the WS. He's the worst manager in baseball.
  13. Capuano should thank the Cubs for that low ERA. Talk about outright domination: 4.30.06: 9IP 0ER 6.26.06: 8IP 0ER 7.06.06 9IP 0ER HAHAHAHHAHAHAH. Dusty and company showed him!
  14. Hopefully every loss is one step closer to Baker and company being out of here.
  15. No coach should be safe and as far as I'm concerned cleaning house is the way to go.
  16. Not surprised one bit. I had a feeling his FB would be Maddux-like velocity.
  17. Damn it! The last thing we need right now are wins.
  18. That's EXACTLY what it was. He wouldn't let the starters in there to try and get out of their own jams, and it also was taxing the bullpen because of this. Pulling pitchers after the 5th inning and what not.
  19. Jimy Williams would be a terrible idea.
  20. Maddux's problem is that he gives up the big home run. He still demonstrates some masterful pitches. But, he just makes more mistakes than he used to. Granted this is not good when you pitch at Wrigley and the wind is blowing out (about half the time) or even if the wind is still. Dodger Stadium is a place he might be able to get away with some mistakes. They wouldn't necesarily go for home runs. At least not at night. The day games are more lively, but they mainly play at night. He would face mostly NL west opponents and could feel secure pitching in SD and SF(because he doesn't give up many homers to right field). Granted Colorado would be an adventure. He could possibly struggle in Arizone also. It might be worth the gamble to the Dodgers. They have an upset fanbase because they did not make the playoffs last year in a weak NL west. This year's NL West is repeating itself. They probably don't want to miss the playoffs again. They can afford to give up prospects because they can always go out and sign free agents with no concern for cost. Like I said to get anything it would be a package that includes Maddux. And I wouldn't necesarily write off the Dodgers as not being interested or unwilling to give anyone up because there have been many reports saying they would be interested. There has to be some validity if different people/outlets are reporting it. I'm not saying it would happened, but it sounds like they would definitely take the call if not make the call themselves. I hope you're right and hopefully that's exactly how it turns out.
