  1. Could Sing play LF along with Murton next year?
  2. Finally...you have seen the light. Don't you feel better now? I'll feel better when the Cubs sign Furcal to 9-10 per year b/c he's fast. Right on! Put Perez at the 2 slot because he hits the ball and makes contact the Cubs will be all set. Now I finally feel good about 2006.

  4. How cheap does Bradley come if we take Lowe as well? The words cheap and Lowe don't really mix Vance. It would be nice to see the Cubs pick up all of Lowes contract and get Bradley while hopefully not costing the Cubs an arm and a leg player wise. Then sign Giles or trade for another impact bat.
  5. Rumor has it that Murton has switched to a wiffle ball bat to increase his bat speed. That may have something to do with the lack of power.
  6. Especially the pen...yikes.
  7. It really depends on what the Cubs do. If they resign Walker and get an impact player for him and resign Nomar I'm for Walker going. But, if the Cubs sign Furcal or make a deal for another SS that can hit and play good defense I would like Walker to stay. Let me add if it's between Nomar and Perez then Nomar by a long shot and Walker ha to go.
  8. Here's the full story: http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2002/1118/1462593.html Considering the Braves will get insurance $ for because of Hampton's injury I think they did alright. Thanks CFICT! Do the Braves get reimbursed the whole salary? Also, is Hampton done for his career?
  9. I forgot how the Hampton deal worked out for the Braves...doe anyone remember the exact deal?
  10. Maybe Mark but doesn't everyone complain about Morriotti? What does the complaining do but bring attention to bad controversal writers. If Jackson is getting hits on his articles to see how outragous this one will be he wins and ESPN, being a cash first organization, will recognize this and keep putting this trash out there. So my question is how do you expose this by constantly posting his articles? Debating it one way or another just keeps him in business.
  11. Yes, he even talked to the Cubs before deciding he wanted to close and not set-up. And his best friend in Minnesota was LaTroy. Another reason how fans can help recruit players. I understand almost all players will go where the cash is but it sure helps if you have a supportive fan base like the Cubs have. Of course I'm sure LaTroy would say otherwise. If LaTroy hadn't sucked people might have been more supportive. Maybe but I'm under the belief that being more supportive when a player is struggling might help them more than the negative attention.
  12. I respectfully disagree, Cuse. The bastard is a columnist on a legitimate, major sports site. Discussion of his ramblings gives us valuable insight into the heart of a Sox fan and the sham that is ESPN. For those reasons, it's worthy of consideration, IMHO. Agreed. You cannnot simply dismiss his racist ramblings as such when he's a regular columnist for the most widely-read sports site in the US. So by talking about him you encourage more of the same. I respect both your opinions but he has a job only because of the controversal hate that he continues to preach and the more we post his "articles" the more attention he receives. ESPN knows this and will run this tripe until we decide to ignore this type of rambling hate.

  14. Just call it clutch hitting BbB! :D What was Walkers OBP last year? I really hope things change this off season.
  15. He also adds an obligatory racial reference. This guy is just about hate and being a racist. I don't want KKK crap on this site and having this bigot on it bothers me too. Why do people feed this bigot the food he needs? Please, do not quote this person and give him the attention he desires for writing about hate. Thank you.
  16. That would be nice. Is M. Giles minus prospects or whatever the Cubs trade worth more than Walker if the Cubs don't sign B. Giles?
  17. Dusty on the playoffs this year:(I'm not making this up, it's in ESPN the Magazine) That's it, word for word, even down to the apostrophe in rootin'. Well fishing started for me in September and I like the Angels but other than that I agree with Dusty. Also, I wonder how much this bothers Baker that the other Chicago won this first...it has to stick in his crawl.
  18. You can't control the past but you can control the future. Mr. Hendry make us proud and help this poor badger off the ledge!
  19. I wouldn't model a team after them but I would like to have 5 solid starters and a very good pen. You may be right about the pitching dropping down a notch but having a good, healthy starting 5 is always a good thing to have for a successful season. I've always believed that you need 7 good starters to be covered for the season and that is not easy to find. I just hope that Hendry, by drafting so many pitchers, will have that covered in 2006 because I have no faith that Wood will be back to start 30 or more games. Also, don't jump on me about hitting being needed too young man because I understand the Cubs need that as well! :D
  20. They won 99 games in the regular season and went 11-1 in the playoffs. I think they were pretty good.
  21. I'm gonna go way out on a limb here and bet you a cyber nickel that neither one of those two will be on our roster in '06. You're right because they'll be on the roster in '07 too. By the way, I thought you were hiding from Hughes? I hear he uses bloodhounds to find dissenters like yourself.
  22. Isn't Sosa 3rd or 4th on the All-Time HR list? How can anyone pass that up? I guess it was a really good idea to have the fans vote for this.
  23. I figured they were kidding. Back on topic. How willing is Philly to give up Michaels? I think it depends on what direction the Phillies decide to go. Michaels could piggyback a Thome trade or if the Phillies move Burrell they may keep him.
  24. Yeah, right after I posted this I realized he wouldn't even play if he was traded for. What does UK have against him? He hates cheap effective hitters. So what position does he have in the Cubs organization?       I was just thinking that before I read your post. It's scary isn't it? WP, I was just kidding around as a poster named UK really likes Micheal and has mentioned him a lot and that's why we were yanking your chain but it looks as if the joke is on us.
  25. What where the rules? Of Latino disent or born there?
