  1. I think it's wise to see what value you could get for any player on the roster. The trades that are proposed are for the players individually and I'm sure they are not made by grouping Lee, ARam and Z together. I see nothing wrong with finding out what the options may be.
  2. I think the Jays might be interested in moving Wells because of his future cost. I'm not sure what it would cost the Cubs but I woud like the Cubs to make sure they have a player that can handle the leadoff spot first. My team that I would be OK with: Furcal SS Walker 2B Abreu RF Lee 1B ARam 3B Wells CF Murton LF Barrett C By trading Williams+more pitching to the Jays the Jays stay out of the Burnett sweepstakes and the Cubs sign Burnett. The Cubs pay all of the Abreu and Wells contracts thus having to send less players. The players moved for Abreu are: Williams, Hill, Welly, Mitre, Kornco (sp), another top pitching prospect, CPatt and Hairston.
  3. Hone$tly...you're confu$ed? This a thing that really bugged me. ESPN gave the final scores for all the top 25 teams and then the rest. The only time they put up stats was for ND and Quinn. When did you see that? I saw stats for Vince Young, Brad Smith, and a few others on College Gameday Final. I didn't say it was Gameday. They were scrolling the scores on the bottom while a game was being played.
  4. Welcome to the board! I'd trade Ramirez for an impact player if he made the Cubs better and an even up trade for Manny IMO does not do that. I'd rather make a deal with the Yanks for ARod.

  6. How about: Baldelli to Philly Hill, Mitre and Wellemeyer to TB Abreu to Cubs (we pick up all his salary I like it but I'm slightly bias! I'd also like to go after Wells from Toronto to cure the CF woes. If Pie and Murton do turn out to be a good players it would give the Cubs good choices to make instead of having be reactive.

  8. IMO Abreu is a perfect fit. I wouldn't mind Burrell as long as he could play RF.
  9. When you can sign an impact player like Perez and put him at second why keep Walker?
  10. The Indians don't really have a lot of(any?) high walk guys. Betancourt K's a lot of guys, he's the only one that K's more than one per inning. What is there for Hendry to like then? :D
  11. I still see Walker going for some bullpen help. What pitchers do the Indians have that walk and K a lot of guys?
  12. I'm jealous. Syracuse figured out the problem on why the balls were falling incomplete....the recievers were not where the ball landed, it wasn't the QB's fault. Good luck against those Gators.
  13. Umm... people.. exhibit A I was first..  You're admitting you thought of this first? You were off the hook too.
  14. I thought of that song too but figured it would be too cruel to bring it up! :D
  15. Would you take 2 years of Perez if it meant no years of Macias? Talk about selling your soul to the devil. No. I wouldn't do that. At least Macias doesn't block anyone. Except that he (Macias) is Bakers #1 option off the bench and we all know that is where young players go to learn under the Baker system. These two players are a lose lose situation IMO with Baker at the helm.
  16. I agree but I would like a 30/100/300 type guy in right. The money is there and since there are not too many quality free agent OF's out there maybe a trade can be in the works.
  17. Cool and congrats. Now you can go work for a Syracuse grad.
  18. Welcome to the board! It would be nice to see the Cubs get the brothers but IMO I see the Cards as having a better chance of getting them.

  20. I remember Gator pitching here in Syracuse when we were the Yanks farm team. I'm happy for the dude and wish him well.
  21. My sanity may depend on that. I wonder if the Cubs are thinking of signing Perez as a "recruiting tool" to land Furcal? I remember reading that the two are somewhat close. I don't agree with this but it may be in the thought process. I do see this as a move Hendry would do and since the Cubs are pushing this defense thing all together possible.
  22. Imagine Baltimore having Sosa one year and Thomas the next? Where old faded Chicago stars go to embarrass themselves. If healthy I think THomas can still be effective, chances are Sosa cannot. Has Frank been healthy in the past couple of years....I don't remember.

  24. IMO Bobby Valentine is going to be the next Dodger manager.
  25. 4/40 mil is probably what it would take. I bet he gets more $ then Pavano. I'll go 4/44. Me too. 4/55 is my geuss. Almost 14mil? No way anybody signs him for that. I think the 4th year will be a lot of cash and possible buyout. This is a very lean year for free agents and I think that Burnett is about to take advantage of that. He's a better pitcher than Pavano too.
