  1. It takes one time to reverse the trend. :D I hope so 1908....I really do. I hope that Mr. Hendry saw a certain second baseman playing for the Sox. :D He did hit that home run that one time. What scares me is that you might be closer to being right then you know.
  2. Gary Hughes would burn the data, banish Fred, and destroy every computer in the office rather than open his mind up to something other than subjective observation. Gary Hughes doesn't allow computers in the office. I don't think Mr. Hughes knows what a computer is.
  3. That's what I was thinking. Wouldn't it be ironic if USC got bounced out by the BCS? That would be 2 out of 3 years. Also, what if UCLA wins out? I really wish they had a 4 team playoff this year if 4 are undefeated but if only 3 were we would have the same problem we have now.

  5. Just like I coached him to say! I think Murton is going to be in the big leagues for a long time. Maybe not a star...maybe he will be one but he will always make a team get better.
  6. And it is.......? Shrek Ahh...thanks Vance! How good is Mench defensively?
  7. My math says we have to wait another 9 years. :x Be careful people that live in Chicago because I have a feeling that if the Sox win your town might get a little harry during the "celebration". Grabs shotgun and plenty of shells.... Northside vs Southside....the 20's return. I wouldn't wear my Cub shirt that day/night. I see a little frustration spewing over during this and I hope it doesn't get out of control.

  9. He's going to the Sox if he does get posted Raisin, Hendry doesn't know they even play baseball in Japan. He's not toolsy enough. You ain't kidding. I just do not understand why Hendry doesn't try for players like this once in awhile. Why limit yourself?
  10. Go VTech, USC, Texas, Georgia, UCLA and Alabama. You are the hope for ridding us of this stupid bowl system.
  11. Gary Hughes would burn the data, banish Fred, and destroy every computer in the office rather than open his mind up to something other than subjective observation. I've been told by Cub management that there is no Fred and there never was. You'll say the same if you catch my drift.

  13. Maybe Bud feels bad about MLB taking away the Cubs home advantage in 84 and thinks this will help Chicago heal.
  14. The Cardinals can be tricky. Last offseason everyone thought they would decline, especially in starting pitching, because of very tight money concerns. Then they turned around and traded for Mulder at 6.5 mil, who figures to only get more expensive. I agree. The Cards know how to work the money around and get the players they need. I think the Cards should move Edmonds and get younger, they looked so old and tired against the Astros.
  15. Soccer's a different game, and the kids are half the age of your high schoolers Cuse. There are plenty of things you can do. You can tell the team not to shoot until they have X amount of passes strung together, or with their off foot, or at a more advanced age, to try and score on aerial balls. Kids at 7-9 are pretty prone to giving up when their hopelessly outmatched. Not scoring(or putting restraints on your team) is the sporting thing to do out of courtesy. I understand that CPatt. That's why I said to work on different things during the game. Besides it's soccer and a 0-0 tie sends everyone home a winner so why keep score? :D
  16. Didn't Houston start 15-30? Did that have anything to do with a schedule that had them playing in cold weather in the spring? If my players say they would rather have it closed then it's closed.
  17. You prefer? No salary cap in any way. byebye Green Bay. Hello 25 championships for the Giants. Baseball's system sucks, and I'm very glad the men who started the NFL were smart enough to make the league the way they did. Just like the way the Yankees win each year right? The Yankees do win each year. They might not win the WS, but they win 90+ games and have 25 championships. The Giants and Redskins probably win a combined 10 superbowls over the past 20 years under the messed up MLB system. The Bengals probably go under, Green Bay definitely goes under. I can't name 1 team that doesn't have a shot to contend sometime in the 2 years in the NFL. I can name 10 MLB teams with litlte or no chance for the next 5 years. NFL's system blows away the MLB. Why in the world do you have a problem with it? I don't like a team being punished for drafting the right players. You have a team that makes a decent trade, drafts quality players and yet gets punished for it because they can't go over the cap. That's redicules. I dispise the Cowboys but when they were winning they did it because of the Walker trade and good drafting. I would have liked to see how far they could have gone if they didn't have to break their team apart because of a salary cap. They got punished because of their success. The same with the Eagles and Pats. Another thing...scheduling. A 6-10 and under team is rewarded while the top teams are punished for being good the year before. The 6-10 play an easy schedule while the top teams play a harder one. It's a pro league for christ sake, make them play the same teams as the other teams do in their division. People complain about the Cubs playing the Red Sox/Yanks in a 162 game schedule while in the NFL they play 16 and it's ok to play different teams?
  18. Here's a little discussion about just that Jimy. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=25890

  20. Once Sosa came off the books I always thought the Cubs would get an impact OF but looking at these choices really makes think the Cubs missed the boat somewhere. I hope Mr. Hendry can pull something out better than these choices.
  21. I won't pay for any MLB or sport for that matter that isn't on my regular cable stations. Once the Cubs leave WGN I'll just watch them whenever they are on ESPN or Fox. Any company like MLB that charges Little League for the rights to name their teams after them can go to .....
  22. The sooner it's over the sooner the Cubs can re-sign Burnitz, Perez and Macias.
  23. You prefer? No salary cap in any way.
  24. Is King the guy that was a starting pitcher for the Cubs when they went to Tokyo and played the Mets?
