  1. OK...time for my annual Tinker to Evers question....speaking that, where has he been? Anywho...who are the top kids in New York this year? Any Central NY kids?
  2. I thought they had laws about this where an agent would lose his eligibility if he were caught guilty in this? This one and out thing is a joke.
  3. 350 wins, that's amazing. You'll always be one of my favorites. The hardest part for me was if I should write this under Cubs or General.
  4. Interesting article Truffle...thanks for posting it.
  5. Lenny is available and the Cubs might think about Edmonds? Crazy.
  6. He had problems when he was behind in the count.
  7. 36M will buy you a lot of hoho's though.
  8. also would've been nice if sean could've thrown more. I don't know how well he felt since he's been in the pen for a while.
  9. A nice game by Mr. Gallagher. If Fox could throw strikes it would have been nice but I'm very pleased with the way Sean threw.
  10. Are there any active 80 runners? Nook Logan, Joey Gathright. Taveras is prob. the fastest runner, but since he is right-handed, he doesn't get the same advantage. Taveras was clocked 3.56 on a bunt from the right side. Somebody who is that fast and can throw like he does has got to be a rare find.
  11. I was hoping Z would pitch the 9th to get ready for tomorrow.
  12. I heard he winked at the pitcher....made him think he knew something he didn't, and then got beamed.
  13. Better suited to pitcher than catcher. I'm never going to look at a scout the same way ever again. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I wonder how those scouting reports would look for women's softball players? Speaking of that, a buddy of mine is meeting with Jennie Finch as we speak. Now what could "meeting" be a euphamism for? He's a Mazuno rep.
  14. I agree but imo to get a quality starting pitcher is going to be a very high cost and I'm not sure the Cubs have enough to outbid the Angels or other teams to get one.
  15. Personally, Id rather see Cotts up than Eyre. Maybe Marshall can prove himself in AAA, but with Lous mentality lately, it wont really matter. I agree with LLF, Cotts has been piching real well at Iowa. Why not give him a shot? There are rules about major league players and rehab assignments. Basically, they had to bring up Eyre pretty soon anyway or cut him. He's also a veteran the Cubs invested a bad contract in, so rules or no rules, he was getting first dibs. So he was the first guy to call it? I hope Eyre can at worst be average and this will also help Marshall as well so he can do what he's suppose to do, start. Imagine if the Cubs released/traded both Marquis and Eyre in a couple of weeks?
  16. Damn, Cuse, how old are you? It depends on which life you're talking about.

  19. All coming the last 2 days.l They were very impressed with him during the spring and imo it won't take that long before he's up. I think they are going let him get his timing down and replace Pie which in Lou's (My guess) opinion, may not be soon enough.
  20. Jeter has been linked to 6 of the all time top 100. Sometimes it's good to be the King.
  21. Can stroke it. Goes the other way well.
  22. He probably tripped over his wallet.
  23. I think the VP's are going to be more important this year than they have in a long long time. Both of these guys and even Hillary if she won by some miracle have a chance of something happening to them in the next 4 years.
