  1. I just want the strike rule enforced.
  2. Dusty would have had Edmonds starting everyday over the past weekend. Lou did not do that. Dudes a vet, he can hit the leftys but Lou didn't give into that and stuck to his platoon.
  3. If Ramirez is being more patient and working on that and doing so when it's early in the season (if this is a time he struggles), then I'm pretty impressed. If he can bring this later in the season when he is hitting better, wow...he'll have a nice year. That being said, I hope it's not because of the wrist injury and he's just not swinging as much due to discomfort.
  4. Really? I mean, the Brewers are in last, but they're only 4 games under .500. I think you could say it's a division with a lot of parity, but they are probably the best division in the NL. Every team in the Central has a winning record against the West. And Milwaukee has the worst record against the East with 4-7...Pitt and Cinci are one game under against the East, and the rest of the division is .500 or better against the East. You could probably argue who's better...the East or the Central, but the West is a bad division. The Central is at worst mediocre. (Only the AL East has a last place team with a winning percentage of .455 or better, like the Brewers.) Yeah, I think everyone is thinking the West is going to wake up but it's possible they may stay as dormant as they are now.
  5. According to Len during today's broadcast, Lou was toying with the idea of sitting Lee on Wednesday to give him an extra day off, especially now that Hoffpauir is up and can fill in fine at 1B defensively. How do you pronounce Hoffpauir? Hoff-power Honest? What a great name for a baseball player.
  6. With his injury problems, isn't this kind of a gamble?

  8. If they start to drop I'm sure they could recoup some of those chips and get something for Tejada and whatever assets they have.
  9. He'll be the 03Lenny Harris for them when they take the WS this year.
  10. I wish I were. Enjoy the beautiful city and hopefully 3 Cub wins!
  11. Chicago and it's team, the Cubs? Oh boy, Ozzie is going to love that!
  12. Beltran. IMO, the Mets are going to want to move him soon. Make them pay a big part of the salary.
  13. I've seen a lot of HS players diagnosed with tendonitis this year for some reason.
  14. He was great in Blades of Glory with Will Farrell.
  15. The Bears do need a WR... Does anyone in the NFL have his rights? If so, or even if not, could the Cubs sell his contract to them to make up for the lost money if they decide that he isn't going to cut it?
  16. They were talking about helping Soto go to right more often this year, has he done that or is he hitting in the same area as last year?
  17. Rosie O'Donnell once caught a foul ball and came out with a hot dog in her mouth, let's see Manny beat that.
  18. 5 over. feeling optimistic over there jake? the pirates aren't ready to contend this year IMO, but there have been some promising signs, and i think that neal huntington has the organization headed in a much better direction (granted, it'd be hard to be worse than littlefield) I actually want the Pirates to be good. Not at the expense of us, but like Wild Card good. No kidding. Even though they're division rivals, I just can't feel anything but sorry for the Pirates. They're a classic legacy team and it would be cool to see them do well again. I used to really dislike them in the 70's when they scored runs like Marquis was pitching to them every day. The Lumber Company, man they could hit.
  19. I don't think he's going to keep this up and I hope when he is struggling, other starters pick it up or the hitters/pen step up to cover him. I'm thrilled with how well he's throwing and I hope he continues to get ahead of the hitters in the count.
  20. I don't see why the NBA would have the home team win virtually every game, though. I understand about conspiracy theories regarding each series going 7 games but why would the NBA fix it so the home team won every game? No, it's the way refs call games. A harsh foul by the home team = breathing on guy foul on visiting team
  21. That just doesn't seem right. Oh well....go Edmonds!
  22. Planting of the front foot would tell me he has his weight already shifted too far forward? I would assume they are working with him to keep his hands back if he does shift his weight forward, at the very least. I'd really like to see some of his hip action/weight distribution and hands in slow mo. Thanks for the info Bruce, good stuff.
  23. Good point. I wonder what his adjusted stats are?
  24. Thanks Bruce. How do you feel about this Edmonds move? It's a low-risk move. Worth a try although I said in my blog I'd take a pass if it were me. They're going to assign Dave Keller full time to Pie in Iowa. Let's just see what happens. Thanks. What's Keller going to focus on with Pie? I'll take a stab at this one: Hitting. Yeah....that's it! Seriously, I'd love to know what aspects they are going to work on.
