  1. He did save that first game with a great catch, though. So there’s that.
  2. The trickle down effect of not having Morrow, compounded by the Strop absence, has made the BP options undesirable all season. Throw in Monty and Carl mostly sucking and Joe really doesn’t have a bunch of options every night.
  3. Umm, I would go with “no”. He just doesn’t necessarily suck as much as he did.
  4. Since 2016, only two other teams have won a World Series. What the hell is the rest of the league doing?!?!?
  5. Q only at 79 pitches. Why the quick yank??
  6. Well, Descalso hits like a pitcher, so.....
  7. I refuse to give up on Chompers just yet. Speaking of illusion. I can't figure out if its his teeth that are giant, or if it's that lower jaw. Or both?
  8. I'm okay with Rizz getting a day off. Gotta keep 'em fresh for the playoff run, right? Maybe Joe is punishing him for the TOOTBLAN yesterday. Would like to see Teeth do something at the plate.
  9. Wonder if Joe is gonna keep using Descalso to force Theo’s hand. That’s probably not it.
  10. Much like the Cubs offense of late, I put a marginal amount of effort into Tuesday game thread. Yesterday, I gave one of my better efforts. Today - bubkis!! Vargas sucks so the Cubs bats will struggle. No poop photos today. Just this: That is all.
  11. Don’t like it as it will really skew home/road splits.
  12. So the Cubs split the series with the 'not so good' White Sox after facing Ivan Nova and Lucas Gioloto. They pound one pitcher and get dominated by the other. One would think it would Gioloto that dominated the Cubs' bats. But it was the sad-sack Nova the Cubs couldn't hit. And yesterday against soon-to-be All-Star Gioloto, the Cubs' offense whipped out their dongs. So in come the Mets for a 4 game series. And the Cubs offense is back on track, right? Well, to quote a highly-respected baseball savant: It would be nice for the Cubs offense to continue what they were able to do yesterday. Hit dongs / score runs. And the Mets starter - who??? I mean, this favors the Cubs, right? Well, to quote another highly respected baseball savant: Rizzo's been mashing of late. Schwarbs has been mashing of late, Willy with a breakout game yesterday. Baez hitting liners and laying off pitches in the dirt the past few games means he's do for a hot streak right? All of this against a "some-guy" pitcher. Well, to quote another baseball savant: I'm not buying it for this game or the series. The Cubs are just too hot an cold. And would be fitting for them to go cold against a couple of junk pitchers in the Mets' rotation. Besides, as I type this at 8:30 AM on gameday, I look out my window and it appears to be overcast. Even thought the game is not for 10 1/2 hours, I live no where near Wrigley Field, I have not checked in with Accuweather for tonight, I will quote a highly-respected weather forecasting savant: So yesterday's game thread got the ol' sad face poop emoji. But I'm not buying the bats coming to life two days in a row. I'm thinking the offense is till poopy. So to quote anotehr baseball savant: So the Cubs' offense is still a "poop" in process. But on this morning, they're a happy "poop". http://www.rewildthyself.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/poop.jpeg
  13. So much for the hand-wringing from a couple of days ago about him not being called up.
  14. Surely this cannot be true?!?!
  15. Cubs' offense facing Gioloto - what could go wrong? Derwood, start warming up.
  16. Reds about to win the first two of a three game set against the Vaunted Astros. Beating Verlander, no less.
  17. That was an absolutely brutal AB by Moncada.
  18. I’d say this thread isn’t aging well, but it really hasn’t even begun to age at all and it’s pretty clear it’s very WRONG!
