So the Cubs split the series with the 'not so good' White Sox after facing Ivan Nova and Lucas Gioloto. They pound one pitcher and get dominated by the other. One would think it would Gioloto that dominated the Cubs' bats. But it was the sad-sack Nova the Cubs couldn't hit. And yesterday against soon-to-be All-Star Gioloto, the Cubs' offense whipped out their dongs. So in come the Mets for a 4 game series. And the Cubs offense is back on track, right? Well, to quote a highly-respected baseball savant: It would be nice for the Cubs offense to continue what they were able to do yesterday. Hit dongs / score runs. And the Mets starter - who??? I mean, this favors the Cubs, right? Well, to quote another highly respected baseball savant: Rizzo's been mashing of late. Schwarbs has been mashing of late, Willy with a breakout game yesterday. Baez hitting liners and laying off pitches in the dirt the past few games means he's do for a hot streak right? All of this against a "some-guy" pitcher. Well, to quote another baseball savant: I'm not buying it for this game or the series. The Cubs are just too hot an cold. And would be fitting for them to go cold against a couple of junk pitchers in the Mets' rotation. Besides, as I type this at 8:30 AM on gameday, I look out my window and it appears to be overcast. Even thought the game is not for 10 1/2 hours, I live no where near Wrigley Field, I have not checked in with Accuweather for tonight, I will quote a highly-respected weather forecasting savant: So yesterday's game thread got the ol' sad face poop emoji. But I'm not buying the bats coming to life two days in a row. I'm thinking the offense is till poopy. So to quote anotehr baseball savant: So the Cubs' offense is still a "poop" in process. But on this morning, they're a happy "poop". http://www.rewildthyself.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/poop.jpeg
