  1. So much for the hand-wringing from a couple of days ago about him not being called up.
  2. Surely this cannot be true?!?!
  3. Cubs' offense facing Gioloto - what could go wrong? Derwood, start warming up.
  4. Reds about to win the first two of a three game set against the Vaunted Astros. Beating Verlander, no less.
  5. That was an absolutely brutal AB by Moncada.
  6. I’d say this thread isn’t aging well, but it really hasn’t even begun to age at all and it’s pretty clear it’s very WRONG!
  7. I don’t think it was the right call but I get it Big Teeth may have unintentionally sold it by throwing from his knees and falling into Abreu.
  8. I like the Cubs strategy of keeping the crappy pitcher’s pitch count down so they can continue to face the crappy pitcherlate in the game. Brilliance!
  9. Sammy got lucky yesterday as the game thread starter. Won’t happen two games in a row. Right?
  10. Would not be surprised to see the VBs try to make a trade for him.
  11. Bring up a reliever until Hendricks' spot in the rotation comes up.
  12. I fail to think the Cubs can get swept in four game series. However, I’m also not confident they can win one given the matchups until they actually do. A split would be amazing.
  13. Ol' "Teeth" needs to be in the line up more. He's been hitting and getting on base. Spell Willson once or twice a week. Stick him at 3rd or maybe 1st on occasion. And maybe put him in LF against tough lefties to spell Schwarbs. He was a second rounder from an organization that has a pretty good track record of scouting/developing talent. I know it doesn't mean much, but it does mean Atlanta thought the guy had talent. He's getting on base, so I say - ride him out until he plays himself out of the line up (if that even happens). No, I'm not suggesting he play every day. But I certainly think a couple times a week minimum would be a good start.
  14. Not if we’re factoring in off the field issues. Would you honestly be shocked if he got hit with a domestic violence case or that he treated his children like Adrian Peterson does? I wouldn't. But probably not for the reasons your suggesting.
  15. What's this ARod / Steroids connection you seem to be intimating?
  16. How's about puttin' one of these in the umps' locker room??
  17. Could give a rat’s ass what his entrance song is, as long as he’s walking OFF the field on a regular basis to “Go, Cubs, Go!!”
