  1. . . . . This game thread is brought to you by the number . . . . and the letter . . . Sooo.......right?? . . . **apparent "johnson" alert . . . **"ham" alert . . . Just keep winning dum-dums! http://countrymusicnation.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/raystevens-thestreak.jpg
  2. Not trying to meatball. He isn't pitching terribly but every bad pitch is getting hammered. That was directed at Cole, not you.
  3. . . . . So the Cubs win their second in a row. But more importantly, the finally win a road series!! Of course, they had the play the rubber match away from Pittsburgh in order to make it happen So they get to travel back to Chicago, full of confidence. But they have a day off on Monday before playing Tuesday night Home Cubs are gonna be puttin' a hurtin' on the road Giants. And while the Cubs can be frustrating at times, they are our team. Our family. And you negative-Nellies need to get with the program and stop all the b!tching! After all, the Cards suck, right? And the Vaunted Brewers - uh, no. So it's gonna be oh so sweet when the Cubs pull away from the rest of division as September nears. Continue winning, you bastard$!! That is all.
  4. I laughed a lot at this. I honestly had no idea what this gif meant until this afternoon. Funny!!!
  5. Neither team “wants it enough”.
  6. I love Miles Mikolas being all "Miles Mikolas" this year. What an aberration last year was.
  7. GREAT CALL!! Tied up 5-5. Actually, it's not that great because it's not that surprising. But good call.
  8. So the Cubs don't waste the good pitching and actually get a rare road win. If the Cubs win, the "streak" of road series lost will end. And it means the "two in a row", which is the start of a streak of their own. Watching the Cubs offense, especially on the road has been brutal. And the late inning bullpen issues: The Pirates are not really that good, even against the road cobs. So I'm predicting a win and a trip back to Wrigley. They will right this ship moving forward and run away with the division. It will be just like 2016 (not really). Win you dumb bastard$!!!
  9. Always thought this was just a matter of time.
  10. Tuned in with the walk to the pitcher. Thought I stick out a couple of batters to see how far behind the Cubs would be at end of inning. Pleasantly surprise. Way to get out of it Jon!! Now a couple of hits/runs would be nice.
  11. http://contentinjection.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/green-auto-racing-flag.jpg http://keepitneat.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/will-farrell-were-going-streaking.jpg?w=908
  12. Strop gave up a couple grounders that literally every guy who can play 2B on this team except Happ probably gets to. Hard time blaming him too much. Bote's error swung the game. Don’t forget another HBP.
  13. Strop has been a dumpster fire this season. If he does his job, Harper never bats. And Holland does need to come into the game.
  14. That sentence is not specifically about Almora, but about the dead weight in general. The bench has been trash all season. Joe doesn’t have a 25 man roster. He can’t keep trotting our the same 8 position players everyday. Because, less face it, a couple of those guys aren’t everyday players. "I'd play Almora everyday until he gets better" Umm, conveniently left out a word.
  15. What? At some point you almost have to use them? That's not been the issue with Almora. He's been used early and often. That sentence is not specifically about Almora, but about the dead weight in general. The bench has been trash all season. Joe doesn’t have a 25 man roster. He can’t keep trotting our the same 8 position players everyday. Because, less face it, a couple of those guys aren’t everyday players.
  16. I don’t blame Joe at all. In fact, I applaud him. There’s been a fair amount of dead weight on the bench and in the bullpen all season. At some point, you almost have to use them. I’d play Almora everyday until he gets better (doubtful) or until his stats become even more comical than they already are. Joe doesn’t build the bench. Joe doesn’t build the bullpen. Joe doesn’t build the roster.
  17. Now if the would just stop the inane “cross town classic”, except every three year cycle, that would be great.
