  1. Wouldn't be surprised if the coaches want their players running out every kick off. Get your ST players in the mentality of not holding, not blocking in the back, etc. There's only so much to critique from weekday practices.
  2. Said nobody. Ever. Until, well, the post-2021 trade deadline Cubs.
  3. Not at all! The season was great, the team was fun and it was a long time coming. Don't let other things diminish that season. It's not worth it
  4. If you DFA Jake, you’re just gonna have to find someone else that’s guaranteed to eat 4 innings every 5-6 days for the rest of the season.
  5. Burnes on the bump tonight. I predict 15K’s SCHNI-KIES!!
  6. 21 Ks so far today in the two games. Shortened games.
  7. The backups and minor leaguers also strike out way too much and can't seem to get a man in from third with less than 2 outs. Contact is overrated. Just hit the dingers.
  8. Listening on radio, Albertos actually pitched very well in the second despite loading the bases and giving up two unearned runs. Only 1 ball was hit out of the infield, a chopper over the 3B head. Announcers said he had a batter struck out twice (confirmed on pitchtrax), but didn't get the call and ended up walking the guy. A couple of errors and an infield single later and it's 2-0. No idea what his velocity was like, but he pitched well.
  9. New Cub Vizcaino faces the Cardinals #4, #6 and #7 prospects in the first inning. He Ks the first two and gets a FO from the third - 1,2,3 first inning and his day is done. Old Cub Albertos starts the second inning. New Cub Canario draws a BB but is thrown out trying to steal in the bottom of the first. New Cub Bryce Ball Ks on 3 pitches.
  10. That Farkus kid had a nice game.
  11. Without looking at any stats, I’m gonna go with “he was on a heater” for a few weeks. Seems like the same player he was in a Cubs uniform.
  12. Jim Edmonds would be proud Marcel Ozuna did it first, just not quite the same results.
  13. Was at the game. Not overly exciting the first few innings. Kyle H. was great. Four run inning was fun. Lots of Cubs fan in the stands, just like two weeks ago in Phoenix. Good to see a win…again. 2-0 this season!
  14. I like it. Can’t possibly hit any worse in key moments of a game, right?
  15. I have great tickets for tomorrow nights game. Psyched!
  16. Benn impressed this year with Keegan Thompson. Has been really good. Does he project as a starter next year? If not, when? And if so, he's clearly a 3-5 type, right? Does he have the stuff to be a 3 or maybe one day better?
  17. Can a player or coach touch a player who is on his way to a base, i.e.- one of the players 'pushed" Javy to first base saying, "Go, go!"?? Is this something that the Reds can protest? Didn't think you were allowed to touch a player who was in play and Javy hadn't yet made it to first.
  18. What may be lost to many of you who didn't watch the inning from the start (as Boog just stated), is that future show in HoFer Yadi couldn't corral a "wild pitch" on strike 3. lulz.
  19. 10 walks in 7 innings, plus 2 WP and a HBP. Nice job pitching staff.
  20. Sounds like Len is doing the television broadcast for the White Sox. Sad.
  21. Well if Marquee botched the telecast, then so did Bally Sports out in Arizona. Because the feed for the DBacks was very choppy even in the bottom of the 8th. Maybe it wasn't a MSN issue.
