  1. Buyer beware for any team that mortgages their draft future for any QB. History shows there are very few #1 overall QBs taken that turn out to be the best player from their draft, let alone a franchise changer. More often than not, their hype is greater than their careers.
  2. Was hoping to see the Sox host the Yankees in round 1.
  3. White Sox would cruise if there were a consolation bracket. They dominate bad teams.
  4. I think I've been mathematically eliminated. Not certain, though. Anyone have a grid with the possibilities?
  5. Someone on the Sox is eventually going to hit a HR.
  6. BM - Could be doing weekend late night sketch comedy in the late 70s
  7. No I wasn't,' but you know that. The Packers beat two teams that haven’t won, so I don’t put much stock in their 2-0 start. But wins are wins. oh don't be so sensitive. besides, your team gets to play a team whose QB has clearly aged past his best years, you should be 3-0 soon. But if you dont win.... Oh, I’m not being sensitive. Trust me. Happy they started out with two wins. Bears get that same aging QB (probably) later in the season, so there’s that.
  8. Same. But I acknowledge it’s because I’m a wuss and don’t want the possibility of losing to the stupid Cardinals Wouldn’t mind seeing the Cubs play a team we haven’t seen this season. Maybe several (4?) we haven’t seen.
  9. Wins are always good, regardless of the opponents. But the3wins are against teams that are currently 0-8 and most 0-9 by the end of the day. Those three teams probably picking in the Top 5 of the draft. You're referring to the Packers, right? No I wasn't,' but you know that. The Packers beat two teams that haven’t won, so I don’t put much stock in their 2-0 start. But wins are wins.

Not sure why you choose this post in particular to respond to, or why you felt the need as a Packers fan to horsefeathers on a really fun victory that had nothing to do with your team but ok. Ummm, don’t be so sensitive. The fact that I’m a Packers fan has nothing to do with my post. The three teams they beat are trash. But losing to those teams would’ve been worse. Wins are good.
  11. Think about everything they had to overcome. Down 16 in the 4th quarter, they had TWO TDs overturned and both resulted in a loss of possession. They made a QB switch mid game, they didn’t get the 2 point conversion that would have made it a 1 possession game. They lost their backup RB and punt returner to a devistating injury. The refs seemed to be way more willing to call penalties on the bears. I rip on Nagy for a lot, and I still will, but keeping his team poised and focused despite all that is a reflection on him Wins are always good, regardless of the opponents. But the3wins are against teams that are currently 0-8 and most 0-9 by the end of the day. Those three teams probably picking in the Top 5 of the draft.
  12. Because they’re not a good team and poorly coached.
  13. Gioloto has been very good and Keuchel has been great. Closer has been good too.
  14. So Joe Musgrove has silenced the red hot Indians for 7shutout innings, giving up only 3 hits and striking out 10. Maybe his last start was more his pitching and less about the Cubs sh!tty offense.
  15. Byron Buxton just got drilled in the melon with a 97 mph heater. Walked off under his own power.
  16. So I was just about to post the Ponce de Leon has a no hitter against the Brewers going into the 6th. Too late.
  17. Glad they just got the first win. No reason to save him for a game they may be out of hand by the 8th or 9th.
  18. Cards shutout in game 1. Onto game 2.
  19. Happ - CF Rizzo - 1B Willy - DH Heyward - RF Baez -SS Schwarber -LF Caratini - C Kipnis - 2B Hoerner - 3B
  20. Cubs are 1-5 in their last six games scoring a total of 9 runs. Five of those came in the lone win. So they've scored 4 runs in their last five losses. I would say the Sox pitchers have a pretty good shot at stymieing the Cubs offense. Bu I think the Cubs offense will stymie themselves.
  21. This question could be posed underneath soooo many comments in soooo many topics on NSBB,
  22. Maybe Yu was on to something.
