  1. They may be entitled, but they root for the Mets. And live in NY, or worse, NJ.
  2. A guy named Frank makes it 3-1 with one swing of the bat.
  3. Another Javy-Bomb, Mets up 3-2. And another "not in the lineup" for KB.
  4. Seriously, after the trades on prior to August 1, what did you all expect? Their best MLB player is injured. Their other best sort of MLB player is injured. Their scary bats are guys named Schwindel and Wisdom and Ortega. They're gonna be bad the remainder of the season so accept it. Makes watching so much easier.
  5. Apparently, that's a thing. Link to Pelicans' website
  6. Javy-Bomb in NY, but the Nats are up 2-1. Here's a shocker, KB out of the game for SF after 1 AB and a rain delay. He's played/started (and presumably finished) 19 of their 24 games since arriving in SF. So he's missed/come out of 5 games. Not bad. But the Giants have also had 3 off days. Seems like their big FA "get" is not in the lineup maybe as much as he could be. Guess some things never change
  7. ....was that top of the inning?!?!?
  8. Won’t root for them to lose. Just won’t be that disappointed when they do.
  9. Probably because just about the entire Cubs' lineup are not everyday MLB players, and many are nothing more than AAAA players.
  10. A bunch of "try hard" guys, but not every day players. And Ortega clearly did NOT make that catch. Easily see the ball roll from his glove to his belly.
  11. Ortega just basically turned that single into a double. He threw it into the infield to "no man's land". No shot at home. No shot at third and he threw it weakly to the mound letting the guy go to second. Fundamental mistakes galore.
  12. He’s a “closer” always pitching in the 8th inning. Might be that whole mental thing with him.
  13. So that would be a strong “yes” for me.
  14. I went back a little further to when I started watching the Cubs. Here's my list, with the caveat that some of these guys are almost certainly a no go. But some of them were pretty big local stars on some really crappy teams: Glenn Beckert Kenny Holtzman Don Kessinger (prob not) Bill Hands Milt Pappas Jose Cardenal Ray Burris (prob not) Manny Trillo Mike Krukow Dave Kingman (prob not) Bill Buckner Jody Davis Leon Durham Keith Moreland Bobby Dernier Joe Girardi Andre Dawson Jon Leiber Alfonso Soriano I believe the highlighted have a legit shot. And here's some non-players: Leo Durocher Dallas Greene Jim Frey Don Zimmer Don Baylor Dusty Baker Lou Piniella Joe Maddon Jack Brickhouse Harry Caray Len Kasper (unless they're pissed he left)
  15. Looking like Iowa would be a step up from this current Myrtle Beach like team.
  16. Len's a front runner. Saw the writing on the wall last winter with the 2021 cobs so he bailed. Thought about teams that were on the rise and realized he didn't have to move by taking sox job.
  17. Big Ten coming outta the gates strong with a few conference matchups. And, no, I'm not referring to Illinois and Nebraska.
  18. And the Tigers get a single n the bottom of the 8th with 1 out. Hope McKenzie doesn't know where I live.
  19. Guardian's Tristan McKenzie with a perfect game thru 7 at Detroit.
  20. Frank Schwindel - you can’t stop him. You can only hope to contain him.
  21. Machado went to a godawful team that had a promising farm system. Oh, and for $300 million.
  22. The streak will be 1 or 11 after the game.
  23. Tyler Gilbert no-hits the Padres. Throws 102 pitches for the DBacks.
  24. I would definitely not call this one an "A Game".
