    Starting a game thread in which the Cubs give up 20 runs is an embarrassment I’m unwilling to face again. I am, therefore, done as a game thread starter. Good night, and good luck.

    A win and you win the series. A loss and you split versus a rotten team. And it would probably mean the second of four consecutive losses because they don’t beat the Sox.

    Mercy. Excellent point! They can get swept at the Cell, but only lose two games instead of three. Very savvy of the Cubs.

    Happ absolutely loves playing in Cincinnati. Two-run double in the 1st, 2-0 !!

    Cubs, surprisingly, have scored 5 or more runs in five straight games and in seven of their last nine. Keep hitting and scoring, boys!

    Would like to see Stroman not give up a dinger. Only happened once so far, and that was his best performance to date. And the unflappable PJ Higgins will be his signal caller. Yay.

    Cubs getting jobbed with some "called third strikes" so far. Seiya in the 1st, and now Rivas in the second with bases loaded and no outs.
