    Does Peavy keep the "No Trade Clause" through the remainder of the contract even if he is dealt this year to another team? Does he keep it for the remainder of the contract or once he waives it, it's gone for good? The reason I ask is because if he waives the NTC completely (for the remainder of the contract), this could be a great trade for the White Sox or any team that gets him. You're basically getting a great pitcher early in the season that could be traded AGAIN nearer to the deadline in July when teams get desperate, thus getting back a better package than you gave up. You could also trade him in the off season or next year, again, getting more than you gave up.

    If its essentially a done deal, and only formalities are in the way, cant he give Hendry the go ahead to get the deal done? If the Tribune doesn't want to take the risk, then no he can't. And the Tribune might not budge on it...they're taking on risk for very little possible benefit to them. I'd imagine since the Trib is currently in bankruptcy court, they're probably not allowed to take on the extra long term salary as debt.

    Isn't Macha's issue that he thinks Demp threw at Braun's head??? The fact that the ball hit the bat doesn't make the intent any less. In Macha's mind, Demp just missed him, but still threw at him.

    After hitting .109 in April, which is abysmal, he's .258 for May. Not great, but he's been getting on base more of late. That said, nothing wrong with Koyie getting a game or two a week at this point.....until Koyie starts sucking again.

    Suspending starting pitchers is a joke anyway. All it does is push back their starts a day or two. I think MLB should enact some sort of rule that forces a starter to miss a FULL turn in the rotation. Fine them the same amount you would normally fine them, but make the ball club actually skip them through the rotation.

    Big deal if he gets a game or two suspension. He's gonna need days off throughout the season anyway. It's not like he's gonna make 155+ starts.
