    i dont. he was a very arrogant jerk when we met him in spring training the 1st year he was on the cubs. hopefully we all get remembered for the one time we may meet someone!

    I can care less how we win it as long as we win it. If we get a little help so be it. We have been charitable in that department the past 3-4 years. Yeah. The way I look at it. The other teams owe us major injuries of their own. i don't care how the road to the postseason is paved so long as the cubs get there.

    doesn't make Prior or Wood healthy But it makes them a lot worse...Nothing wrong with that. yeah, i'm not too worried about the cardinals with or without carpenter. it's the brewers, imo. now, about ben sheets...

    eric bynres was quoted as saying, iirc, the first two pitches hawkins threw to him were sliders that byrnes said not even babe ruth could hit. and then, latroy decided to throw a 1-2 fastball right down the pipes, which byrnes hit for a two run single. 1-2 fastballs are a surefire way to stay in the big leagues... haha

    yeah, i mean, maybe we should just keep signing free agents like marquis and lilly forever... those middle of the road #4 starters are so much cheaper!

    this is ridiculous. they had to have known that the company was going to be sold, and probably knew fairly accurately the amount and to whom months ago... not sure how they think they are going to replace those numbers, and i bet hendry doesn't have a replacement plan... out of 4 starters the cubs have brought up in the last several years(wood, cruz, prior, z), zambrano is the only one that has really worked out. this is a joke.

    No-7 man pen, Pagan is gone. The pen will be Howry, Erye, Dempster, Ohman, Cotts, Wuertz, and either Guzman or Cherry. Eventually, someone is going to have to be bumped for Woody. If Wood is able to get in enough innings to start the season on the active roster, Guzman and Cherry are out of luck (although, Cotts should be demoted but it isn't likely to happen). from what lou has said i don't think it would be too hard to imagine both guzman and cherry making the team over cotts, who has options left iirc.

    people die from many things everyday. this turned out fine for everybody except for a fine and loss of licnese, LaRussa should undoubtably be fine and everyone else can breathe i don't think that's the point. people don't put themselves in a position to harm other people everyday. drunk driving is no shrug off. i'm honestly suprised he's getting a pass here, of all places, for drunk driving, of all things. and if he had been asleep for any amount of time his bac may have been quite higher when he first started to drive into the night. not a good look.

    Floyd, a left-handed hitter, has a career .281 average against right-handers, and .272 average against lefties. Murton, a right-handed hitter, has a .329 average against lefties and .289 against right-handers. that's pretty much all i need to know.

    3.53 seems like a high ERA to be the lowest in an organization.

    we aren't going to get anything decent for miller and he's just in the way. if he(wade) isn't willing to move to the pen, then we get what we can and cut our, not too considerable, losses.

    doesn't really matter. the bullpen will be solid either way(except glendon cotts).
