  1. thanks for keeping me updated at work, guys(gals?). it's greatly appreciated. i am switching between updating this and my interaction client with names of past due bills to call, so this is breaking the monotony of answering machines... thanks.
  2. So, basically, if we aren't the runaway best team we should just wrap it up and play kids? Playing Murton is not wrapping it up. He's as good as Floyd and Jones, at least, and should get better. None of the Cubs OF is an ideal OF, they need all of them to produce if they hope to succeed. I would say if we are CLEARLY not a top ten team then I would say there is no reason to play a past prime player over a player who is major league ready. Did you think the Cardinals were a top ten team in your head, say, August 1st of 06? No, but back to my point of how many times does a inferior team win a WS? Maybe 2 other times in my lifetime. If you throw in the 69 Mets that would be 3 other times in my 40+ years. I would rather take my chances with a young player who has shown plenty of ability to improve than a chance that this team will win the WS. I would even go as far as saying that playing Floyd over Murton would only mean one or two wins anyway. this isn't exactly about the 'game.' it's taking up a lot of space here...
  3. Riot walked but the 3rd base ump apparently called time before the pitch was thrown or something, so it doesn't count. thank you. sounds odd.
  4. looks like reyes is a little wild for stl tonight
  5. What's your problem with that quote? You wouldn't consider a combined 11-2 record with an era around 1.3 to be "stupid" good? Or do you just not like the phrase? I hate the phrase. He's been a scout for over 30 years. I'm assuming he's over 50. It's bad enough when a 20 year old talks like that. What's next? Yo, that Samardzija is just phat. i heard if a person doesn't speak super white proper english he/she worships the devil, too. Um, not saying phrases like "stupid good" is hardly super white proper english. you said phat as though it were now, or ever really, a relevant term amongst anyone.

  7. The same way they won their first day game and their first home game this year? sorry Well.... we haven't lost a night game yet this season !! Kerry Wood and Mark Prior haven't given up any hits, walks, runs or homeruns yet either. They're neck-and-neck for CYA !! Or should I say, shoulder to shoulder? they still have shoulders?
  8. rat a tat tat and that was that. too bad they couldn't score a few runs for the guy.
  9. and now bonds is out of the game. anyone know why?
  10. probably wouldn't do much damage at this point.
  11. haha. four days late.
  12. it would be quite funny to see cuban jump the brick wall onto the field to yell at umps like he does in dallas.
  13. On XM this morning, they said that someone on the bench mentioned it to Narron, who hadn't seen it. He then watched the replay. Tattle-tale. http://www.cynicalnation.com/img/snitchin.jpg
  14. Anyone see a pattern here? hahaha awesome.
  15. the hardest thing for me to understand is why it's like that for some guys... like soriano just doesn't produce if he isn't leading off, it's weird. yeah im not sure if i agree with that thinking, but i guess its a viable arguement. If Murton develops some power, i could see him as a solid #5 guy though. I like him better as a 2 spot though. now i understand that there isn't enough of a sample size of murton hitting second to say whether or not he will produce there, and if he can do what he normally does he should always be starting in left and hitting second... i was just pointing out that it is odd how some players, soriano in particular, can only hit in certain lineup slots.

  17. i wish i had the stats in front of me, but izturis seems to be one of the most patient hitters(or seeing the most pitches per at bat) in the lineup thus far. granted it's only been 4 games, but if he can do what he has been doing, i don't know why anyone would complain.
  18. does it seem to anyone else that they lost their patience after spring training was over?
  19. it looks like they are trying too hard now...
