  1. Michigan State secede from the Big 10? EDIT: UCLA is 0-2 against Beline, his zone (all zones) befuddle Howland-coached teams. Not really sure what Michigan State has to do with anything I said
  2. LOL at UCLA! Go Big Ten haha Maybe UCLA should have been playing some real teams in the last week or so, instead of the mighty Western Illinois University.
  3. Yea I forgot about Trammell.
  4. I would say the biggest reason why he decided to go back to single A is the fact that Lou Pinellas contract ends rather soon, and he knows by showing loyalty, and putting in his time, it will result in him being an actual candidate to replace Lou. Wasn't that the feedback he had received when he interviewed? Pretty much. Hendry told him he needed to put in his time before he would be considered a real candidate. If Hendry is still here when Lou's contract is up, Id almost be willing to bet Sandberg gets the job, or possible even Jody Davis.

  6. I remember that post but wasnt sure if thats what he was referring to or not. Those damn slumpbusters sure do hold grudges against Ryno.
  7. what the hell
  8. It depends. Sandberg has made some comments that make me leery of his managing style, but that was from before he started managing. I seen quite a few games in Peoria last year, and personally I liked what I seen. Ryno didnt give up alot of outs, and didnt really play small ball, which surprised me. Hopefully after he gains some experience, he changes his mentality from his earlier comments, because Id love to see him manage the Cubs, since he was one of my favorite players ever.
  9. So the Bears are pinned back on the goalline, and they feel this is the time to bring in Garrett Wolfe, and then try running him up the middle? Fire TURNER NOW
  10. Don't understand why this is such a hard concept for teams. You just seen why teams still kick to him.. As good as he is he can also do really stupid things.
  11. Well to be fair, they cant really drop back and throw down field with this joke of an offensive line. But yes, Turner blows.
  12. Jesus Christ the Bears are a joke. STOP GETTING PENALTYS!
  13. #54! Lets go Orton
  14. Well if you look south of Michigan there is a school in the Big Ten that is recruiting as well as MIchigan, and runs the spread offense.
  15. Illini fans, Locksley has been given a 4 year contract extension, and is now the highest paid Off Coord in the Big Ten. SWEEEEET!!!!!!! http://www.news-gazette.com/blogs/fourthandblog/2007/12/15/the_right_thing_to_do
  16. Wow reports are coming out now that the Michigan coaching debacle has caused one of their QB recruits from Illinois, John Weinke, to change his mind, and head to Iowa. EDIT: Its official http://www.news-gazette.com/blogs/marcus_jacksons_blog/2007/12/15/wienke_commits_to_iowa
  17. Im not sure how good the DBacks system is, but I heard they gave up 4 of their top 10 prospects to the A's. i know the Dodgers and Angels (maybe) could offer better packages but who else could?
  18. I know things can change, but as of right now the Cards starting OF is Duncan, HGH, and Ryan Ludwick, with an outside shot at Rasmus making the club from spring training. Their rotation is Adam Wainwright, Joel Pinerio, and a bunch of nobodys. Cardinals should be in full rebuilding mode.
  19. his experience as a high school baseball coach gives his opinion as to the psyche of a professional player he's never met respect? not from me. He has seen plenty of pitchers lose it on the mound, and has a greater idea than the average fan of what little things to look for to get an indication of that. Sure, professionals lose it a lot less than high schoolers. If you know a person, that also makes it easier to tell, and obviously Cuse doesn't know Prior. Body language experts would tell you that doesn't matter all that much though. There are many traits that all people do in similar situations if you know what you're looking for, and Cuse has seen examples of it so many times that he has a better chance of noticing a little detail than almost anyone else. So yes, I do believe his profession gives him an edge on noticing something like this. Right now I disagree with him, but his opinion is not absurd. high schools pitchers have about zero in common with major league pitchers. come on. Exactly. Right. MLB and colleges get their numbers that are projected by PECOTA and Bill James when players are little leaguers and draft them by using those. How many high school kids have you seen go straight to MLB and pitch? A high school kids mentality is far far different then a MLB pitchers. I highly doubt most MLB pitchers are worried about passing their Chemistry 2 test while pitching, and whether or not Suzie from down the road "likes him". Come on Cuse, there is a big difference between pitching in high school ball, and pitching in the pros.
  20. can't say i agree with these... it's not Johnson's fault that he had to play behind a dog crap O-line with no passing attack to keep the defense honest, and then got hurt. It's not Heap's fault that he has struggled with injuries, and that Baltimore has no competent quarterback. you want RBs who have REALLY been a bust, how about cedric benson or shawn alexander. and l.j. smith and alge crumpler would've been better bust picks at TE. how can you not place blame on johnson because of his o-line and then proceed to name cedric benson as a better pick as a bust? the bears o-line is probably, no definitely, the worst in the nfl. trust me, the bears do not have the worst offensive line in the nfl. and johnson was a great back when he had a good o-line in front of him. benson hasn't done much since he came into the league. And the 1st year he actually gets a chance to do anything in the NFL, his Oline is one of the 3 worst in the NFL. Im not saying Benson will be great, hell or even good, but to give Johnson a free pass for this year(which is what the rankings are) because of his line, and then name Benson instead, well it doesnt make sense.

  22. According to a poster at GRB somebody talked to Edmonds less than an hour ago, and he knows nothing about being traded. hmm Although this article says Edmonds agreed to the trade. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/stories.nsf/cardinals/story/303D90EDCC9E7C01862573B20015B897?OpenDocument
  23. They're not getting out of the whole 8 mil. St. Louis is sending cash as part of the deal to pay for part of his contract. Maybe I worded that wrong, but that is what i meant to say. The Cards should be happy they are getting out of having to pay the whole 8 mil.
  24. Lol Cards fans are mad at not getting much in return. Seriously what did they expect? Edmonds is past his prime, they should be happy with getting out from the whole 8 mil on his contract.
  25. Reports are also around that Randy Johnson is telling everybody he will pitch next year. Johnson obviously wont be he #1 he was a few years back, but as a #3 or 4 he could make that DBacks rotation pretty damn good. This is all dependant on Johnson staying healthy all season, which is doubtful.
