  1. So Hendry would have to "think" about getting someone like Willie Mays ? What the hell would there be to think about. GET THIS GUY OUT OF CHICAGO!
  2. Me too. But go Buckeyes! Yup, I dont like ohio State at all, but for this one night, Ill be rooting my ass off for them.
  3. That guy! I love that Illinois is basically in a no-lose situation. Everyone expects them to get blown out, so they can only impress. People who think Illinois is going to get blown out either just hate Illinois or they don't follow Illinois or both. We were being blown out just once this season and it was the first game of the season. And we ended up losing by just 4. USC is playing well right now, but did anybody watch the USC/UCLA game? USC didn't look all that dominating to me. They looked much better against Arizona St. to me. Offensively USC didn't look spectacular against UCLA but defensively they were amazing. They held UCLA to 168 total yards and just 12 total yards. Outside of what turned out to be a fluke drive in the last :45 seconds of the first half, USC shut out UCLA and held them to 103 yards. They held Arizona State to 16 yards rushing. This is a very good team that should be healthy once the Rose Bowl rolls around. Illinois is nothing special defensively and has only faced one team that can come close to USC offensively - Missouri - and they were down by 24 in the third quarter and gave up 40 points in the game. And USC's defense is a hell of a lot better than Missouri's. Illinois is going to have to score a lot of points to win this game because I guarantee you that USC will and I don't think Illinois can score a ton of points againist USC. Yea I was impressed with USC's ability to stop the worst scoring team in the Pac 10 outside of Stanford, and the 91st out of 120 DI schools, from scoring more than 7. I was also impressed USC could stop the worst passing team in the PAC-10 from gaining many yards thru the air. UCLA fumbling 4 times also was very impressive by USC. U of I scored 28 points against an Ohio States defense that only allowed more than 17 points 1 time, against the Illini. U of I wont fumble the ball away like UCLA did.
  4. Yup, because the Cubs could not use a good player like crawford. oh, they were just going to give him to the cubs? the cubs weren't going to have to give up, say, rich hill to get him? well, if that's the case, i take it back. I'm unsure if I'd give up Hill to get him. Hill is a tad overrated. He's a above average pitcher but if he was in the AL he's not even in the discussion of top five or six lefties in the AL. In the NL he may very well be the best lefty not named Hamels. That alone tells you how weak the level of play is right now in the NL. um...that makes no sense. None at all. However that is a new one for people describing Rich Hills downfalls. Mental midget and such Ive heard, but never because he pitches in the NL.
  5. Not that we really need him, but Id trade Ohman and Theriot for him
  6. Preach it!
  7. You do realize what kind of numbers Theriot was putting up in the minor leagues at age 22?
  8. no, that would just be lucky. It's irrelevant, since they'll lose all those games by healthy margins. If anybody would know about losing by healthy margins, you surely would :D
  9. They cant afford to put up with Theriots crappyness either.
  10. I can't wait for the LSU/Ohio State matchup. You don't get to the MNC two years in a row without being badass. FWIW, LSU is a great team. They played a lot more convincingly earlier in the season when they weren't racked with injuries to key players like Dorsey, but they found ways to win and their only two losses were both in triple overtime. LSU WITH Glenn Dorsey has a much better defense than without. He makes that much of a difference. Arkansas always plays LSU to the wire and McFadden is unbelievable. That was a TOUGH loss. LSU is deep at a lot of key positions, and it should be noted that they won the SEC Championship with a QB who has only made one start in his career. I'm thinking that Dorsey, Doucet, and Matt Flynn will be ready to go for the MNC game - and LSU will be at full strength. 34-21 LSU. They won the SEC Championship because Eric AInge looked like Danny Ainge playing football.
  11. Pitt '05. Mark Mangino on the phone on ESPN, yet they're showing a picture of him with it. The point of having Mangino on the phone rather than via satellite is that you don't have to look at him. My tv wouldnt fit him in the screen. hes only viewable on widescreen tv's
  12. Yea honestly we should prob just have a Rose bowl thread because there is going to be a lot of talk about it. Almost a month to wait, that sucks.
  13. what'd he say? Called Tebow a system QB, and that he couldnt run Hawaii's offense because it takes an accurate passer.
  14. I will bet you a years worth of premium on the U of I game. Ill take those 21 you are so sure of.
  15. Wow anybody just hear June Jones's comments regarding Tim Tebow, Colt Brennan, and the Heisman? He took a pretty good shot at Tebow. I hope Meph is ok.
  16. At least U of I isnt just a one hit wonder. Maybe you guys can make another non bcs bowl in 10 years or so.
  17. Oops I read that wrong. Guess all the odd makers dont agree with the so called experts here .
  18. Well guess the odd setters dont really agree with half this board huh. U of I -6 and OSU -3. The only reason LSU is favored is basically because its a home game.
  19. Once again this argument would hold weight if OSU had barely beaten these "weak" teams, but outside of 2 games all year(Illinois and Mich St) they dominated everybody. They allowed more than 17 points 1 time all year, and averaged over 32 points. Its not like Mizzou played a juggernaut of a schedule. Every SOS measure has Mizzou with a significantly better SOS. They played a team better than anyone OSU has played, and played them twice(neither at home). And they lost both times, and the 2nd time the game was never really in question. OK dominated Mizzou yesterday. I agree Mizzou got screwed but it was at the expense of KU not U of I or Ohio State. Let's not get carried away here. If you look at the numbers, we actually lead in nearly every category in the first half. We stayed in the locker room in the 2nd half, I'll give you that. But to say that we got "dominated" is a complete lie. OU's D dominated that game. They didn't dominate anything. OU had 60 more total yards than Mizzou. They didn't dominate our offense. At all. They just made plays when they had to. Look, I'll be the first to admit that they played a better game than us and deserved to win. But, again, to say that they dominated us just simply isn't true. The game was never really in doubt

  22. If OSU wins or even makes it less than 10 are you going to give a mea culpa. I understand that OSU didnt play the toughest schedule but they manhandled everyone except Illinois. LSU may have played a better schedule but probably should have lost a couple of more games. Just off the top of my head they very easily could have lost to Tennessee yesterday and Auburn and Florida. That the go along with the 2 losses they do have. If this wasnt going to be a home game for LSU I would pick OSU to win outright. I agree with what you are saying, but Mich St gave them a fight too.
