I think you have to start Wells this week vs Stl, and at this point in the season, Forte should only be used vs teams like Detroit the rest of the year in my opinion.

He really should be, but since hes a "star" they wont sit him vs all leftys. At least Howard is over a 575 OPS in the last 3 years vs leftys. Granderson can't even say that....thats how bad he is vs leftys

He OPS'ed under 500 last year vs leftys for Christs sake, he is the definition of "platoon player". The last 3 years hes at a whopping 570 OPS vs leftys.

That's dumb. Heh to each their own. I dont care if anyone wears 23 around the league, but it wouldnt be the 1st time the league has retired a certain number. I think this is also a way for Lebron to change to his favorite number, which hes hinted hes wanted to for awhile now.

I can't believe what a free ride he's had for several years now. I really hate Kreutz. Even when he was at his best he was routinely sabotaging drives with horrible personal foul penalties. Not to mention the numerous false start penalties he gets during the season. I swear hes the only center I have ever seen who repeatedly gets false starts called on him. -
Probably Grabow or Guzman Those 2 would be the top choice I'm guessing, but they could also look at Wagner for a year. After this year I figure we will have more of an idea about Samardja the starter, so he could be an option also. Stevens is an option. Personally if you can sell high on Marmol for a Granderson, then you worry about who's closing games after. Relievers are fickle, and there are plenty of guys out there who could do the job over the course of the year. A Guz/Grabow closer combo would probably be more than ok as long as Guz can stay healthy.

If the Cubs gave up marmol, i wouldn't give up much after that. I definitely would not include Marmol and a top prospect for Granderson. Marmol is cheap and has a lot of upside and no doubt has some of the best stuff in the majors hands down. If they did trade marmol, i wouldn't mind them trading marmol and then flipping bradley for Wood. But yeah, no way would I include Vitters or Castro in any trade. Yea when I said "package" I meant a couple minor league filler guys at most. Marmol does have tremendous upside, but hes also got a good chance of blowing out his arm sometime soon. Id be perfectly fine selling high with Marmol right now.

Id build a package around Marmol in a heartbeat, but I wouldnt include Castro. And wow is he absolutely horrible vs left hand pitching. A sub 500 OPS wow.
