  1. Have I been transported to Southside Baseball? What in the actual horsefeathers? and now for your enjoyment on Lackey day: actual horsefeathers.
  2. I rooted for them for at least a few years before that. But I must admit, I remember rooting for the White Sox in '83 so I felt that disqualified me from calling myself a true fan until '84. I was young and stupid. Don't feel bad, I was always a Cubs fan but I had a slight lean towards the White Sox in the early 90's. I worshiped Frank Thomas. By 98, I was a clear Cubs fan but still rooted for the Sox to do well until about 2003. Like you said young and stupid, just a different era I just lost so much respect for you. You should delete this comment, and then create a new account.
  3. '84? Pshah. Fair weather fan. Come back when you've been a fan since '69. I rooted for them for at least a few years before that. But I must admit, I remember rooting for the White Sox in '83 so I felt that disqualified me from calling myself a true fan until '84. I was young and stupid. I was joking before; I wasn't even born yet in '69. But now...I just...I don't even...I can't...no.
  4. The discover ad ruins the effect. Time to switch to Manning img
  5. I'm not a big "protection" guy, but I kinda love how, now, if teams walk Rizzo, they get punished.
  6. i've read a couple of posts on this page now alluding to something like this...is there some report i missed where this is being talked about under the table even though it's against the rules or whatever? No, just the general understanding that that is the only way the Cubs could compete financially with the restrictions in place. And if it was being reported, it wouldn't be very well hidden under the table, would it? If Theo does it, we'll never know. But it doesn't seem very practical to me. What if the under the table deal is in place and he tears his UCL in the first season. Won't it look a little suspicious giving a $150 million contract to a guy on a TJS operating table?
  7. Keep that negativity flowing Duke, I think its working.
  8. Yeah, that's an absolutely terrible position to take. There's nothing anyone on this team has done (besides Russell probably) to make me even remotely feel any animosity toward them. They're a good bunch of guys that are just not playing very good baseball right now. Oh please. I'm a Cub fan since 1984. I will root for this team forever, and root for them to win every game from here on out. But there's no part of you that will say "horsefeathers you guys" if they blow this? You will just be "disappointed" and not the slightest bit angry? '84? Pshah. Fair weather fan. Come back when you've been a fan since '69.
  9. 1909 1908 Would you please stop posting positive things?! You just ruined the possibility of a repeat.
  10. That's how Hendricks becomes a hall of famer for the braves. And I will blame you. and duke.
  11. 8 of 10 in a dome. I'm most excited about this. No stupid opening day followed by an off day.
  12. Note that his mouth is open.
  13. So much stink.
  14. exhibit b
  15. There shall henceforth always be two gam threads.
  16. This needs to be a front page article.
  17. So wait, WE'RE allowed to get first inning runs too?
  18. http://www.itsokguys.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Who-Animated-gif-arrested-development-9659488-432-240.gif I know you're mostly joking, but fangraphs has them as slightly better odds at the division than Milwaukee.
  19. I swear he looked dead live.
