  1. Yah, 35 HR is perfect for the 8 spot. I'll take the under on that.
  2. Hit by a pitch on the hand. Didn't look very good, but nobody really knows anything yet. Ouch. Also, skimming through here it seems like Soriano has had a particularly bad game. I read about the missed flyball, what else has he done bad? The other missed fly ball.
  3. He better freaking yell at himself. I can't take his idiocy anymore.
  4. When you keep intentionally jerking around your better players in favor of inferior ones for no apparent reason, when you overreact to small sample sizes, when you pitch your mop-up guy in one-run games and your elite shutdown stopper in blowouts, you get what you deserve.
  5. The Cubs are going to turn their most talented team I've ever seen them assemble, and one of the best starts in franchise history, into 1 1/2 games behind the Cardinals already. This might hurt worse than 2004.
  6. All of which are 19 innings worth of stats, which is to say they are pretty much meaningless in terms of projecting him from here on out.
  7. So do I...Would have no problem hitting 5th..Then we could have Fukudome batting 1st or second..Lineup would be so much better I actually like Fuku hitting 5th. That way if a team pitches around DLee and ARam, we will get a good AB behind them with an excellent chance of advancing the runners and maybe scoring a run. I will take that any day of the week over a guy who K's or DP's too much behind them. The guy who would presumably move up to No. 5 has a better OPS than Fukudome, I believe.
  8. Is that the guy who gets all those RBI? The one who owns Wrigley Field? The one who wanted to come to the Cubs? Why the hell would we want that guy? The one that would come cheaper and shorter term? Can he steal bases? That's *really* important or something.
  9. I'm disappointed in Rich's performance. I'm more disappointed in the way he's been handled by the incompetent boobs that run the show. I'm disappointed the pitcher with the third-best ERA in our rotation is being pointlessly jerked around because it isn't aesthetic enough for some.
  10. AAAAer Pie, hopelessly overmatched in the big leagues, distracts Lieber by standing funny off second and forces the K.
  11. Now you know how I feel every time Fontenot gets on.
  12. Did I forget to mention that our former phenoms who burn out do nothing, their's magically become somewhat productive left fielders?
  13. Cubs take their good pitchers and turn them to garbage, the Cardinals take garbage pitchers and turn them into good ones. Cubs fall apart in seasons they should win, Cardinals are mysteriously winning when they have no business doing it. Cubs get swept out by a team with no business being in the playoffs (negative run differential?), Cardinals win the World Series with a team that has no busines being in the playoffs. I really wish I had been born 50 miles southwest of where I was.
  14. If you are going to pull Hill every freaking time he gets into any sort of jam, you might as well send him down or trade him. Just once, I'd like the Cubs to get good trade value out of the players they pointlessly ruin.
  15. Give Hendry $115 million, he can give you a decent team.
  16. Pie makes a bad throw, we get a lecture about the cutoff man. GRITIOT makes a bad throw, we get a loving speech about how awesome he was for intentionally sliding. ](*,)
  17. I'd rather have Stone. Oh wait, we managed to screw that up too. i'd rather have stone so that i could hate him immensely every time he opens his mouth. wait, no i wouldn't. I have a recording that says "a breaking pitch low and away should get him" that I play every time a batter gets to two strikes. Stone would be redundant.
  18. Why is Alfonso Soriano one? Small. Sample. Sizes. Dude, its the 3rd inning, and Pie has: Struck out Airmailed a throw nowhere near Soto when there was a chance at a play almost killed Ryan Theriot(which the Cedeno faithfull may feel was a good thing) Replace Theriot with Reed Johnson and Soto with Ramirez, and Fukudome did two of those three things yesterdray.
  19. I'm in a bitchy mood too. We all should be in a bitchy mood. This has been awful to watch... and he HAS to stay there for the whole thing. It's honestly like the Cubs don't want to win. Like there was some sort of secret meeting where they realized they had far and away the best talent and the division, and the solution they came up with was to mess with their No. 2 pitcher, fall in love with a recently released CFer, bury their best SS and screw up their bullpen usage.
  20. Well it seems like we are having this "referendum" nearly every AB. Last two weeks: .263 .348 .421 Took Cubs fans about half that long to fall in love with Reed Johnson.
