  1. the mets radio guys were saying how much theriot looks like eckstein, especially with his throwing. i think that comparison has been made around here a few times, and is pretty accurate. he doesnt put up enough O to justify a move to 2B.
  2. obviously the O should be better than last year, but is the consensus that the D will be better this year? i see a lot of familiar names, just a year older.
  3. no one seems to be impressed with him anymore. Last place in year 2.... I think it's pretty hilarious they suck harder than a Pirates team filled with AAA players did you watch the cubs/padres series?
  4. it would be pretty embarrassing to be this dude's boyfriend. http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/news?slug=ap-worlds-gendertest&prov=ap&type=lgns
  5. what if he held on to the cup, is it still battery? i really thought this happened all the time. maybe things would be different if it was just on CSN and not ESPN.
  6. i heard a bit of a story on the radio about pitino and the mess he's in, like missing the season was a possibility. i'm at work and cant look it up. anyone hear anything?
  7. and everyone would get the same list, right? i mean they wouldnt give it to the worst team, wait for a response, then send it to the next one, and wait, and so on.
  8. Al did that at first, then later commented how inconvenient this was for Carpenter. Al's kinda a dbag. yeah he said that a few times. he's more than kind of a dbag. try listening to him call a cub/card game, its not fun.
  9. al hrabosky made the comment that the injured guy might be a friend of pujols. i think the only reason he guessed that was because of all the work albert does with Down's kids. dont they usually eject people after they come onto the field, even if its an accident? it would've been funny if he was bleeding but ok and they had to kick him out.
  10. when is the list of players put through waivers released? is it all on one day, or do gms just get a daily list of guys put through that day? i was wondering about a situation where if several attractive players went through at once, a team may only want to make a claim to one of them, rather than risk getting stuck with multiple new contracts.
  11. i guess i need to keep starting lohse so he keeps sucking.
  12. Aaron Miles was on a rehab assignment. Numbers are not his primary focus for what he was trying to do down there. You gotta get your strength back. You have to get your timing back. this is sarcasm, right?
  13. That's so true. I have a Cardinal fan buddy (one that is actually reasonable knowledgable) that is convinced that Holliday is going to take less to sign with the Cards, even though he's said nothing to indicate that. there was just like 3 calls in a row to the xm show on now to this effect. pretty delusional, very widespread here.
  14. pretty decent start for holliday .541/.600/.946/1.546, with 9 XBH's in 37 ABs in 10 games. best case scenario would be him doing well as the cards miss the playoffs, and he becomes way to expensive to sign here. although the locals think if they cheer loud enough he will stay for much less. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AskTTgRgBEdKH4I_HecvJgARvLYF?slug=jp-tendegrees080209&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
  15. this isnt a serious question is it? not really, i mean i know he's not owed anything. but he's only making the minimum, so you think one of the 8 figure guys or the organization could throw him a little extra. I give Hill credit and respect him for being out there every single day, but his production is barely worthy of the league minimum salary and I'm sure he is happy to be making that. so your saying that a player making league minimum should be given compensation for getting playing time? Ryan Theriots making near minumum. Randy Wells too. just seems like he's really taking one for the team. i cant remember a team using just one catcher for an entire month like this, including day games and double headers in july for that matter. his OPS dropped 90 points, not that he was ever much of a hitter. i was curious if the team did anything for him, other than what they were obligated to. just seems he's doing something extraordinary /end thread jack any !ram news on the broadcast today?
  16. i bet we lead the league in pitches per inning, too. Not sure about that one, but they did lead the league in P/PA with 3.88. Seattle was second at 3.87. that would be a better stat for what i was thinking.

  18. does hill get any sort of bonus for the overtime he's putting in lately?
  19. i bet we lead the league in pitches per inning, too.
  20. it was stil a grounder to second, nerds
  21. 4-3 from 4-3. jeff weaver in for the bums.
  22. tony is filling the lineup with rightys, which puts ludwick in cf. i cant recall him playing there before.
  23. we just need to play .500 on the road. winning at home hasnt been the problem.
  24. yeah he should have pulled up on the reins a tad, but a solid effort.
