It happened when Duke and UNC were both 1 seeds in 2005. some of the fans like UNC? who cares, the advantage is in not travelling across the country. UNC and Duke can be placed in the same location, so UNC fans that stay for the later games will cheer against Duke. And yes, an advantage is not traveling across the country, which Duke has earned with their season. its just that there is always games in NC. there isnt always games in IL, despite the having the 3rd largest city
