  1. White shirt with dark blue 3/4 length sleeves and a small cub face logo encircled in red, wearing Harry Caray glasses. Maybe a gray hoodie after a while, it's freaking freezing here at night. I just got a new camera for this game, and I was thinking maybe I could use that red-eye reduction feature where it lets out a couple pre-flashes before the final flash, and spend the entire night trying to get the perfect picture of Lincecum mid-windup. Do they throw people out for using flash bulbs??? hmmmm, excellent idea. I'll keep my eyes peeled. I think I'll make a lot of friends in the stands this way.
  2. In case anyone has missed my extensive bragging about this, I will be front row behind home plate for this game. I'll make sure to post extensive amounts of pictures for you, Soccer :P Also, because it's so unbelievably cool when people do it, I'll be on my cell phone and waving at the camera if I'm visible from the center field angle. I know you'll all love me for it. Unfortunately, I will not have a "Blame CT" sign, or any other sign for that matter. That's just out of my league - I'm nowhere near that cool.
  3. A dynasty? You mean multiple championships? True, a dynasty means multiple championships, but a dynasty by Cub definitions would be to achieve 85+ wins in 4 years out of 6.
  4. Standings in the first post need to be updated :(
  5. Yeah it may have been a poor one, but I tried to get across a point. Pujols may have been telling the truth, but it doesn't make him less of a jerk. The opinion is a matter of bias. In terms of human character, two incidents in which he criticizes the nature of an award within his profession and the skill of an opponent he just faced says much less about someone than one of the game's premier superstars having a reputation for being courteous and welcoming to its fans. He's a Cardinal, and he has enjoyed much success against the Cubs this weekend. That's why I hate him, and that's why you think his opinions make him a jerk.
  6. In fairness to him, the MVP argument is a pretty divided one, and he voiced his opinion, which was biased in his own favor. What a jerk. He also said Marquis isn't that good, which obviously has absolutely no ring of truth to it whatsoever. Again, what a jerk. These opinions were both on matters directly related to him. I'd say the pleasant five minute conversation with a stranger and 15 minutes of autographs for fans, regardless of their loyalty, says a lot more about him than those expressed opinions. In fairness to him he could have tipped his cap to both guys, you know like a professional. You really think that is how DLee would have answered either of those questions? He's one of the top three hitters in the game, and the media hounds him for his opinions. He's not terribly outspoken (a la Sheffield or Artest), but if his give a [hoot] factor is low, he speaks the truth. Yes, he's not the solid professional that Lee is, but he simply expresses his opinions about his own profession. We've all got those opinions, and we all know what opinions are like, and everyone's entitled to not like him for it. I just think those reasons are pretty weak.

  8. Except if it gets called at this point it's a suspended game. With the Cubs losing the full inning would have to be completed for it to be a final. I'm pretty sure thats incorrect. Incorrect indeed. The cards had the lead going into this inning. This is an official and complete game until the cubs tie or take the lead.
  9. JK LOL? he's come up with some pretty big hits already - for his time here, he's done plenty for his stripes.
  10. of course aram up w the bases empty ... predictable :x
  11. That strategy could hurt the Cubs doubly if it jacks up their travel times. They do have the advantage of not starting their next game until 9pm central tomorrow night.
  12. Did this site start loading much slower for anyone else over the last few minutes?
  13. wtf, it was 0-0 And even with how good Zambrano was, I still believe the Cards were more likely to break through on him than the Cubs were on Wells. I don't understand why yesterday was such a given win. I heart Riot. I take it back.
  14. He didn't pitch around Rolen with first base empty.
  15. It's not 03, and Alou's not batting. Fair ball.
  16. Looks like yesterday's lineup In related news, yesterday's lineup was solid too!
  17. Game time is nigh, do we have lineups yet?
  18. Jerk. I'm still stuck with Marquis Tuesday night, for which I will be closer to home plate than the first baseman will be. Maybe they won't even try to play tomorrow and I can still see Lilly for that game. Z only threw 44 pitches tonight (pretty much like a side session between starts). He could very easily be ready for Game 3 of the series. Thanks for the bit of optimism, but fact still stands that while I'm enjoying the best seats of my life, I'll be watching Marquis pitch.

  20. They really need to or else they're in a pickle. The Cardinals don't play in Chicago any more this year, so if they don't play tonight or tomorrow that means St. Louis would need to come back to Chicago to play a make-up double header on a mutual day off. There are only two mutual days off remaining this season.Didn't the Giants and someone else recently only play 161 games in a season, due to lack of playoff implication? If both games are ppd, and they make up one of them on the 27th and don't have a good date to make up the other, can they not just put it off until the last day of the season and just say forget it if the outcome wouldn't make a difference in the playoff picture?
  21. Gammons' interview with Ankiel: "A couple years ago, it was 2006..." :checking calender: It's still 2007.
  22. Lamers. Jon Miller just came in with an update saying they're sticking around and waiting out the rain as of now. Maybe people are leaving the stadium because they don't feel like sitting in the rain.
  23. Yeah, this is such an advantage for StL it isn't even funny. Kip has killed the Cubs, and we all know how easily Z can start to run up his pitch counts. It prob works out better for the Cards, but it's not nearly as lopsided as everyone is making it out to be. Well, Theriot walked to lead off the game, but Jones GIDP. Oops  I missed the first inning and saw Ramirez lead off the second in the 4-spot. I should have figured that scenario was just as likely as no one reaching against Kip.
