  1. Yeah, this is such an advantage for StL it isn't even funny. Kip has killed the Cubs, and we all know how easily Z can start to run up his pitch counts. It prob works out better for the Cards, but it's not nearly as lopsided as everyone is making it out to be.
  2. Z was perfect thru three. Bottom third, Murton with an IF single and Kendall up to bat when the tarp came back out on the field. Murton's single is the only blemish on either pitcher's line thru 2.5+ innings.
  3. Whoopity doooo, another freaking rain delay. Anyone know how long this looks to last?
  4. Murton smashes a single to the left side of the field!!
  5. Whoever it waas a few games ago who suggested that a sniper be posted on top of the scoreboard to pluck off people in the background who wave at the camera was spot on. I'd like to volunteer.
  6. 8 pitches that inning. Nice. What happens first in this game, a base hit or Joe Morgan saying something intelligent?
  7. Zambrano throws a ground ball to Lee in order to retire Molina. Nice "throw".
  8. I expected nothing less of this game.
  9. Strike 2 to DeRo looked about the same spot where ball one was called for Ward. Thanks for making sure Wells' numbers don't fall through the floor, Cobs.
  10. Wow. It amazes me every time I see Daryle Ward's attempts at running.
  11. Saying that the game was lost on one bad pitch to Ward is "excuse-making?" Sure Reyes probably wasn't perfect other than that. The fact remains that the Cubs have scored a bunch of runs on very few hits in the series. Why so overly sensitive about the way the Cards media is scrutinizing Reyes' start? Who cares? The Cubs also handily outhit Houston while getting swept out of town. That happens, and it goes both ways. The Cubs pitchers have also issued plenty of innings in which the opponent notches more runs than hits. When you walk and hit guys and have errors happening in the defense behind you, that happens.
  12. Reds let the Cubs have one, and then they took one from Milwaukee. That's more than Brewers fans can say about the Cards so far.
  13. Wood hasn't looked all the great and this is a pivotal game. We've got a 3 run lead. He needs to work his kinks out so he can be a valuable part of the pen coming down the stretch. You say that like a 3 run lead is safe? I say that like we need to get woody his work, and a 3 run lead is a fine opportunity to bring him in. And yes, with our pen and how it's performed overall, I feel like a 3 run lead is relatively safe. I agree. If Woody can't come in and get work on here because the game is too close or too important, then they shouldn't have put him on the roster. (Though Lou may well have different reasons, I'm just saying.)
  14. You only say that because DLee and the Ward GS are the only Cubs hits today.
  15. Yours is better, since you cropped out that unsightly White Sox ad.
  16. that's great. I might have to shrink it and sig it. 2005 White Sox. That is all.
  17. I have a sinking feeling that Ward is going to let him out of this with just the one run. Prove me wrong!!
  18. It's so much more fun when Lee hits. I like this.
  19. C'mon, Jock. Continue in your ways of the stud.
  20. Yeah that almost made me spit out my beer. Was he being serious?!? Yep. He said that Kendall wasn't the kind of baserunner who would clog up the bases. Makes me glad Piniella got the job over him. Yeesh. I was just gonna say, I feel bad pulling for Hendry to hire Girardi now. That's just... wow.
  21. Yeah that almost made me spit out my beer. Was he being serious?!?
  22. Bottom 3, 0-0, none out, Kendall on first, Marshall batting.
  23. The radar picture doesn't look too good either. I wouldn't be surprised to see this one rescheduled.
  24. That's it, cards missed their chance. Marshall puts the game on lockdown now.
