  1. I see the error on gameday... what happened?
  2. Would you expect anything less against this team? At least Lee hit him.
  3. Gameday says knee high down the middle.
  4. Are you sure its not just cause the Cubs/Cards in a rain delay?? I am gonna be getting the Cubs/Cards game here in Iowa, when it gets underway, but they have the DET/NYY game on in the time being. I thought that, but when I hit the info button on my digital cable it said, Detroit at NY.     We are 6 hours from Chicago, 10 to Detroit. The only reason this is happenening is because of the stupid yankees. With the rain delay, what are the chances that we get to catch the last hour of the cubs game when the Tigers-Communists are done playing?
  5. Brewers are expectedly sucking, bad. Here's to hoping that continues + a major fall-off for the Cardinals!! Does it still count as a fall-off if the Cubs are the ones that pushed them? Because that's what I'm hoping to see over the next few days.
  6. True, he did pretty much tie up his trip to the HOF in that one year alone, but I still maintain that Neifi's best Cub moment came when he was still with Colorado.
  7. Not only do the Brewers and Cubs go into a freefall, the Cardinals come back to well within striking range, the Reds are playing good baseball over an extended period of time, and the Astros were very recently as close as six games to first place. It'll be a 5-horse "race" by the end of September, with the winner being whoever stumbles across the 80-win mark.
  8. It's up on the Reds' home page now. Holy crap
  9. I'm on my way out to do the same, so the answer is a hearty yes. Cheers!!
  10. Hate to be a downer, but considering the slump we were in prior the last 2 games, I'm not gonna be so fast to jump on another team's similar woes. Kind of a believer in that "karma" thing. I'm GLAD that Milwaukee is slumping and looking bad in doing so, to not be mistaken, but this could just as easily be us too. For the Cubs and Brewers in August, our 2-game winning streak is looking pretty beastly. There's still hope for the NLC champ finishing with less than 80 wins. I still believe!!
  11. It also gives me something to do other than pay attention in class. And then when they win, I have Go Cubs Go stuck in my head the rest of the day. When was the last time the Cubs had the division lead outright?
  12. If I remember correctly, jock received his share of pretty brutal racial remarks as well. As far as Hundley flipping the crowd off, that was his frustration with the treatment he had been receiving from fans up to that point.
  13. pbp stops as soon as I have to stop listening. What happened to Hill and Theriot before JJ's HR? What's the score?
  14. Was that a 2-run shot? What happened before his HR?
  15. Going off memory here, but I think it's 732 in the past 7 days, 680 in the past 14, and 750? in the past 28. No need to call people morons, unless you'd prefer to get banned to protect yourself from people who aren't happy with a 1B hitting like a shortstop. nice play by jones.... anyway... if I get banned for using the word "moron" then I am completely fine with that. i one hundred percent stand by that comment. It's not the word, it's the personal attack. And as the one who used the term dead weight who inspired said personal attack, I was describing Lou's general practice of sitting those who slump, not calling Lee dead weight. It was a mere proposal that for how bad Lee continues to look when he takes all these strikes, he could use a day off. Calm the f down.
  16. Ward should have got the start at first and Pie should be in Center. With the whole 'play the hot hand, rest the dead weight' philosophy Lou has employed all year, DeRo should be starting at first today.
  17. This DLee funk is getting old. Bigtime.
  18. What's one-pitch's PC after two? (redundant and repetitive question i know, sorry) edit - nm, thanks cubbiechris
  19. I would criticize that nickname, but I guess it flows a little better than "4-inning 115-pitch Rich."
  20. I'm not since even if we lose 3 of 4 in this series, we'd be tied with STL. Keep in mind, Kip Wells and Anthony Reyes are starting two of the four games, and Zambrano and Lilly are starting two games for us. I think we'll take 3 of 4, but a split looks to be the worst case scenario. Keep in mind Kip Wells is an All-Star against the Cubs.
  21. With the Cards offense coming to life lately, I don't really have high hopes for Hill. I think the best we can hope for is that the cubs offense stays hot and they turn it into a contest of who's bullpen sucks less.
  22. Font had a 5 for 5 day back on 25 June, so might as well try to sustain that momentum too.
