  1. What the heck does strawberry pie have to do with anything? Felix-flavored pie isn't as common. Or tasty.
  2. Post of the day. Gotta win three of four. Totally agree. How can they be surging with that staff? They have been surging due to Reyes, Wells, and now Piniero all pitching well. Since the AS break Reyes has an ERA+ of 151, Wells has an ERA+ of 125, and Piniero has an ERA+ of 160 in his 3 start. Which is ridiculous. But, par for the course for that franchise. TLR and Satan agreed on a mid-season contract extension. I dont see how it is any different then what Jacque is doing right now. None of them are as bad as they were early in the season, and none of them are as good as they are playing now. Actually, some of them actually are as bad as they were at the beginning of the season And it's just Jacque for the Cubs. (I guess Marquis the first six-8 weeks or so counts too.) The Cards, like every year, are receiving miracles from their entire freaking rotation.

  4. No lineups yet? I'm in a bad mood and want something else to complain about.
  5. It'll be a while before that happens. The armor goes on his right arm.
  6. For the love of Jeebus, it's Braden Freaking Looper. Beat him, Cobs.
  7. Since the Cubs still have 3 against the Brewers and are less than 3 behind them, can't they theoretically have a magic number as well?
  8. Haha well done. =D> Oliver = Any team in the NL central
  9. And dead people voting is also part of the process. :DLuckily this vote didn't require us to go through such trouble. I can only handle that every few years or the workload becomes too much.
  10. Does he have enough of a pattern yet where we can say that there really hasn't been much of a fluke at all this year, and that he's just a crappy first half player and a good second half player whose season numbers average out as being mild/decent? I know we had all pretty much resigned ourselves to DLee being a slow starter when he got here. Kojock just takes half a season, not a fourth of one, to kick it into gear. /statistically baseless statements
  11. Wow, it is amazing to see that. You know what they're saying in Milwaukee though: typical Brewers. They've been fading in the 2nd half for more than just this season. Crew fans have seen this before. Cubs fans are watching the same old episode again too.
  12. I opened the thread looking for the Cubs as an option as well, because when they're playing the way they are right now, every team in baseball is scary. No one else matters if the Cubs suck this badly. If the Cubs were .500 this month, the Cards would still be 5 or 6 games back, and this weekend wouldn't carry nearly as much pressure. The Cubs have only themselves to blame.
  13. I realized the same thing as I started rocking out on the closed-circuit feed.
  14. Dempster wouldn't be Dempster if he didn't walk someone first.
  15. But since the Cubs have been losing so much this month, doesn't that mean that they're better off when he stinks?
  16. What the crap?! Why couldn't that jerk get injured back when he stunk??? That would have been the best news of the month in May or June.
  17. An IF single followed by three consecutive outs. He must not have gotten the memo.
  18. Whoa, Piggy got Hatteburg out?! Another couple weeks with this big league team and he'll never do THAT again.
  19. If I were a Cubs fan, I'd have been crapping my pants for the last couple weeks.
  20. If the rest of the lineup keeps getting 19 hits a game, DLee can take as much time as he wants to break out of this funk.
  21. If the Cubs blow this lead, I quit for the season. I'll be selling my tickets to the Giants series.
  22. Was that called for? Not at all, because I already called Ramirez to be my baby daddy.
  23. I'm really not rooting for anyone there. Can they both lose??
  24. His CERA and CW-L are off the charts. Runs and wins are the most important stats in baseball. Do the math, and you'll see that Koyie Hill deserves Marquis money.
