Had to do it.
  2. Yes, post the pictures, please. Okay - I'll have to resize and upload to photobucket. Not sure if I'll do it tonight or not, but probably by morning.
  3. And no, I don't have one of the 19-yr-olds that Vance and Mark were hitting on. Sorry everyone.
  4. didnt bring a camera, planned on bringing one for game 4 but i knew i wouldnt be able to keep up with one for game 3Actually, I have a few pics. Included are: soccer10k, Fred Hornkohl, Vance, Mark R, Garwilly, Yeti, Laura, CT, and Seth (the only one with Seth, you can't really see him that well). I don't even have them up on photobucket yet, but I'll get around to it soon enough. Also, I'd like to make sure those pictured are all okay with it before posting the pics on here.
  5. Holy crap, I dont' remember any of this... (I remember talking to Roast on the phone) The only part I remember is getting a girl's number at Slugger's for an interview for a job. I met you outside the bar and you may or may not have tried to sneak me and two of my friends in (to no avail, obviously). And you, sir, were sloshed  I forgot you aren't 21 yet - I was wondering how you met all those people without ever meeting me. No one told me you were out there or I may have been able to sneak you in the same way I snuck CT in. Had Mark been aware enough to realize I had accomplished this, he may have thought to enlist my help, but oh well. It's too bad too, it would have been cool to hang out. At least until the game started, anyway.
  6. I got all pumped when I scored tickets to this series. Then the Cubs couldn't beat the Marlins, and I started worrying that they wouldn't make the post-season. Now they're about to get swept out before my game. Whoever's coming out to Wrigleyville tomorrow could see me cry like a girl if this thing ends now. You worthless su'umbidges, win this effing game.
  7. Thanks to the Joliet train schedule, my options are either to wake up in about five hours, or take a train that will put me at Lasalle station around noon. If the Cubs weren't down 0-2, I'd choose the former, but it looks like I won't make it there in time to help claim territory. Whoever is there before me, I'm coming, so leave me a spot. Go Cobs :(
  8. I didn't notice the Lilly reaction to the homerun, because I was simultaneously doing the same thing to my hat. Thankfully my girlfriend was the one driving me to the airport after the game, because I'm about 100% sure I would have died if I were the one driving.
  9. Drinking to take the edge off. Beginning the journey to Chicago!! Enjoy the game, everyone! Just because I might cry like a little girl if the Cubs do what I expect them to, I'll predict a 7-1 Cubs victory tonight. Lilly is awesome, and Kerry Wood makes an appearance and shuts them down for two innings. See you guys this weekend. are you leaving already?? tell me you're not driving from california... Nope - gotta be about an hour north of here by gametime, then leave there no later than ten for the oakland airport to catch a redeye and be at midway by 6am tomorrow. I just hope this game doesn't run over, because ill have to miss anything that happens after 10pm pacific time. outta here now. GO CUBS!

  11. Sweet, sounds like a plan! See you guys out there! - Ryan
  12. Any ideas on where to do this thing? I'm about to leave for the airport, and Fred and I talked about getting to Slugger's around noon on Saturday. If anyone has another better idea, or if there is already a location planned, let me know. I'm really pumped about hanging out with everyone this weekend. It'll be even better if the series is tied when this all goes down. See you guys out there!!
  13. Pretty interesting, especially since we thought Webb had something on his hat. Forget the cheating, that bolded part is the best thing in the entire blurb. That was my take exactly.
  14. There's credence to the argument that, after flipping Riot and DeRo, you could swap Riot out for Cedeno and improve the lineup.
  15. If that's the biggest mistake Lou makes tonight, I'll take it.
  16. 12345? That's amazing... I've got the same combination on my luggage!
  17. I want the Rockies to win, but I want them to do it in three more games which average 14 innings a piece. Unless the Cubs don't advance, then I want the Rockies to Sweep their way into Cleveland and die a miserable, 4-game death.
  18. Yeah, let's worry about actually winning a game against Arizona before we talk about the World Series. My thoughts exactly.
  19. Rox also went on a 20-7 stretch just before they became games 4 thru 6 of the 7-game winning streak in June. Cubs already have a history of cooling them off.
  20. That Hansel is so hot right now. http://us.movies1.yimg.com/movies.yahoo.com/images/hv/photo/movie_pix/paramount_pictures/zoolander/_group_photos/jerry_stiller4.jpg
  21. What about teams that give up HRs to Mark Reynolds and Stephen Drew in the same game?
  22. I'll never understand why some ballplayers are so obtuse that they don't adjust to the particular pitching style they are facing that day. Are they just not intelligent? They must not be. A normal person would think "Hrmm, every time I try to pull that outside pitch, I make an easy out. I should quit doing that." A major leaguer thinks "Hrmmm.... I should just keep doing this. I'll be able to pull it eventually!" Whatever happened to just hitting the ball hard and not trying to place it? They probably think: if I let this guy pull me out of "my game", then I'll lose my lucky stance and be screwed up for weeks. Maybe....now stay with me here......being a good major league hitter......is really really hard. I call Shenanigans.
  23. My first thought was, "bad idea when drunk." Then I saw that I just misread the thread title.
  24. I agree with the whole idea that if Z was going to have an early exit and the bullpen is so reliable, pulling Z an inning earlier to have a PH in that spot makes sense. The best argument against it, though, is that Z was making better contact than anyone else in the order, though I'm not shocked at all that Webb adjusted and Z had no chance of keeping up. As for morning after thoughts: If the offense makes an impressive showing tonight, I'll have some mildly restored optimism. Until then, the sky is still falling.
