Sounds like Pearl is going to get hit with unethical conduct by the NCAA today and will face more sanctions. He should have tried to pull a Sampson when he had a chance and he might have been able to skate like Kelvin. Though as good as he would have been for the bottom line, I still don't know that Iowa would have been able to swallow and pull the trigger.

Have you compared them next to the other bubble teams? End at 19-12, 9-9 and they'll be good, especially if they win one in the BTT. Now if Iowa comes in and wins Saturday or IU wins to close out the season there...

Yeah I think that's been the rumor all along but no one would say it. LOL at Cam saying he doesn't see himself just as a football player but as an entertainer and icon. Pass. At this point I hope the Vikings just wait until the 2nd and take the best available from Ponder, Stanzi, Dalton and Kapernick.

How does it benefit the Pistons at all to buy him out this season? The next owner hasn't been decided yet. Davidson isn't going to make a move that eliminates a possible asset and the next owner may not approve of. Worst case he's still insurance if they have injuries. It's still possible that they can trade him with Tayshaun's expiring or make a bad contract swap for a piece that they can use in the offseason. Or if Kuester is gone next year they can still get something out of him because he still likes Dumars. Or what if they can find a deal for Ben Gordon or don't bring Stuckey back or T-Mac leaves? Now they don't have that overcrowded backcourt next year.

Where are people getting this and why does it keep getting repeated? They're in the middle of trying to sell the franchise. It's not happening. I haven't looked into it that much. Are they really going to DNP-CD Rip from here until the end of his contract? I don't see anyone picking up that contract any time soon. No not forever but they aren't buying him out this year. Maybe after the new CBA gets finalized they try to work something out but not during this season. I keep seeing national guys talk about how the Celtics or Bulls or whoever would have interest if he was bought out. Well no [expletive]. Most contenders would have interest if it doesn't cost anything. The local guys (plus Marc Stein and others who use some sense) have said there's no way he's getting bought out this year.

FWIW since I just read it, here was what Fran McCaffery said about Iowa's similar turnaround. They played at Northwestern on 8 Thursday night and home against Michigan on Saturday afternoon.

They were. The Blues kept getting great opportunities but someone was stepping in front and blocking shots. Hossa had a couple, Campbell took a big one late, Seabrook had one. I think they had 9-10 in the 3rd, many of them late. That really was a gutty effort.

Iowa has lost 3 of their last 4 by 3 points. Two of them they had really good looks to win at the end of regulation. So close to winning 5 of their last 6.

OU was down 3 late to Nebraska then Davis hits a shot that both teams and the 1,200 fans thought was a 3 with 4 seconds left but the officials called it a 2. Nebraska heaves a long shot that missed, they review it and it's a 2, Nebraska wins.
