  1. If this dude actually comes to Iowa and stays, he'll probably be top 3 among the most hated players in the Big Ten by the end of his sophomore year.
  2. Baffling. The guy has all the time in the world at ISU and he's acting like he has to make a big run in 2012/2013 or it's curtains. Outside of White he's bringing in JAG's. The SIU kid sucks and Babb and Allen are average. Luscious kind of sucks and you're tying up 2 years of scholarship so he can give you 1 likely mediocre year. I don't get it. I vehemently disagree -- especially relative to Iowa freakin' State -- that Allen is average and Lucious kind of sucks. Vehemently. White was totally worth it for them. What I don't understand is taking risks and tying up scholarships for role players. It's not like Izzo kicks guys off the team or pushes them out often. They obviously have baggage and is 1 year worth it? Luscious was shooting 28% from 3 and 36% from 2 while having by far the worst turnover rate of their guards. He sucked. Last year he shot 32% from 3 and 39% from 2 while having an awful turnover rate. He's really not very good. They could find someone at his level that can give them more than one year. Booker wasn't good in two years in the MVC. Babb is just a spot up shooter. Hoiberg has as long of a rebuilding leash as anyone in the country but he's acting like a guy in dire need of a quick fix.

I don't get it. yeah, they should save all those scholarships for 5'9", 145 pound white kids from fort dodge. and booker doesn't really suck. Wasn't aware it was an either/or. He has NBA GM's on speed dial man, right? He can find players. You're right. Booker racked up3.5 and 3.5 as a freshman and 6 and 4 as a sophomore while turning it over a bunch. In a one-bid league. He's awesome.

  5. VA Tech down 18 at home to BC
  6. Probably not. Also it really does appear as if Baylor never practices.
  7. I'm really starting to buy in to Notre Dame making a run in the tournament.
  8. Could've sworn you were an Iowa fan. I don't anticipate having remove myself from the room for the Hawks.
  9. I'm in if you need another but I have no idea who my "favorite" team would be.
  10. Cam did not look good and not just because they weren't completions. This is the question with the spread guys when they have to make 5 and 7 step drops and put it on a spot. Kapernick, Stanzi and Locker looked solid.
  11. Julio Jones put on a show. Unofficial times, Gabbert ran a 4.61, Kaepernick ran a 4.53 and Locker ran a 4.52. Kaepernick has a crazy arm.
  12. I have no idea if they'll suck or not but I have no idea what your last post proved. Basically every kid who goes to a high-major has 3 stars. You have one 5 star that may or may not be back, one 4 star and a bunch of 3 stars, many of whom haven't gotten major minutes yet. You just posted Indiana's roster.
  13. Sure flipped in the second half. Those refs completely botched two over and back calls though. The one they got on McCamey was one of the worst calls you could see. I loved when the Illinois player fell out of bounds in front of the Iowa bench, threw the ball out of bounds, no one touched him and they called Basabe for a foul even though he just took an elbow and never made any bodily contact with the dude. That was just a dumb game. Bryce gets a little bit of a pass because he was sick but he played no defense and was just dumb outside of a few really nice assists. Gatens can't make wide open 3's anymore. May does the exact same thing every time he gets the ball (dribble from the wing to the high post, pick up his dribble, turn his back to the hoop and pass it back out). Mel was terrible in the first half. Kind of a bizarro game for Illinois, the seniors played really well and no one else seemed to do much of anything. Richmond was invisible.
  14. Basaabe, or however the hell you spell it, is pretty freaking good though. Fran appears to have an eye for talented kids that are underranked. I'm hoping so. Cartwright and Basabe are a good start. Cartwright's best offer was Miami(OH) and now he's leading the Big Ten in assists and taking care of it fairly well. He was runner-up to BYU for Jimmer. Kenny Hasbrouck was a last minute recruit after he was hired at Siena and he was a college stud who got a little run with the Heat. Ryan Rossiter is leading the nation in rebounding this year. Basabe would have been destroying the MAAC this year.
  15. Hey snood and imb!, what do you guys know about your PG recruiting situation? Cezar Guerrero the #61 ranked player in the country by Rivals is listing Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Iowa and Kansas as his top four. He already visited OU and supposedly is visiting Okie State this weekend and Iowa next weekend and has one left. Sounds like the KU offer might be conditional on Selby and Taylor. Not getting my hopes up but he would be Iowa's biggest recruit since Tyler Smith.
  16. No but as long as he keeps recruiting like this he's going to ocassionally get lucky and make deep runs like that. If you're Baylor that's pretty good. He has the #5 player in the country coming next year and the #2 player in '12 along with another top 50 kid next year.
  17. Cleveland and Detroit almost had a trade-buyout thing worked out for Rip, but Rip wouldn't agree to the terms of the buyout. So now for Rip to be bought out, Detroit would basically have to pay two years of Rip's salary all at once. IMO, doubtful. Yep, as I said the other day it's not going to happen until or unless they sell the franchise or have an agreement with a buyer. This sucks, I was hoping to get something out of Tayshaun today and while I didn't have high hopes on Rip, they got close. What the [expletive] is Danny Ainge doing?
  18. They beat three double digit seeds to reach the Elight 8. They just got lucky. Drew is a terrible coach who uses questionable methods to bring in great talent but thankfully can't do much with it. My fear is Baylor firing Drew and bringing in someone who can actually coach up that talent. Yes and I'm not arguing any of that. He's not a good coach and he's a shady recruiter. But it's [expletive] Baylor. Their program was as close to the death penalty as you can get when he took over. He had them what, like 7 points from the Final Four?
  19. Dude it's Baylor and he took them to the Elite 8 last year and when he took over they were the worst high-major in the country. I don't think he can coach either but come on.
  20. Come on, Rip Hamilton has to be tradeable in some deal. Baron and Arenas have both been dealt in the past month.
  21. Not sure about that. I do think that the Nets got a better player than the Knicks did this week, and gave up less going forward. agreed, but they didn't get him to sign an extension. not sure who made out better. it will depend on whether or not deron ultimately stays in NJ. but yea, i lol'd when i checked espn.com and saw that the nets ended up getting a better player anyways I think him not signing the extension is a good thing. If he does sign it will be after the new CBA so the price will almost certainly be lower. If not they can probably flip him somewhere next year and at least bring back what they gave up to acquire him.
  22. Cincy going to get a win at Georgetown.
  23. Gus loves him some Little Lewie
  24. Cappobianco is the biggest goon in the Big Ten since...?
  25. Is that a normal activity in southern IL in late Feb? He's a pretty weird guy isn't he?
