  1. No it had nothing to do with them being awful, being 6-18 in the Big Ten with 4 of those wins being against the bottom 3 of the league. It was just because they practiced too much.
  2. Are those guys really any better coming out of high school than what you've had with Paul, Richardson, Richmond, Leonard and Head with an upperclassmen like McCamey running the point? Honestly I don't know but by recruiting rankings it seems like the same kind of guys you already have that he can't maximize.
  3. It seems to me like Richmond is really underutilized right now. He's your best player now that McCamey suddenly sucks. I don't get it. The reaction by Crean and the fans to that win was pretty funny though.
  4. yeah, i was surprised that i was rooting for the heat over the knicks. i also rooted for the celtics over the knicks earlier this year. i just can't stand the knicks. I've never had a problem with the Knicks, mainly because when the Pistons have been good, the Knicks have sucked. I like watching games in MSG and like their uniforms. The East is more fun when they're competitive.
  5. Of course they've had issues. I don't think it's been swept under the rug, in that one bad summer it was a national story for quite a while. Before then and since then it's been your run of the mill college football stuff so it pretty much went away and they went back to winning. Now this past couple of months you've had the DJK thing which was a black eye and this deal which is pretty weird. Players are saying that the workouts that ended with these guys getting rhabdo is the exact same thing they've always done. The drug tests came back negative for anything illegal. So this group of players was apparently taking or doing something that wound up with them being dehydrated. His post is clearly just trying to get a response. And LOL at Rich Rod being fired for practicing too much.
  6. Considering Iowa's football season was a disaster (on the field and off the field) this year, I'm probably sure there wasn't much positivity coming from anyone regarding them. I'm just asking a simple question. If you don't want to answer it, ignore it. No the point is that every one of your posts here is about Iowa for some reason yet you're not a fan. You seem eerily similar to Rusch33.
  7. No, not really. And a quick scan of your posts shows that 90% of your college football posts are related to Iowa, every one of them negative.
  8. I don't get why people think this way. They were clearly overrated to start the year. They were a 5 seed who was fortunate enough to make the Final Four by beating a 12 seed by 3, a 4 seed on a buzzer beater, a 9 seed in a close game and a 6 seed by 1. They lost Morgan and Chris Allen from that team but everyone wanted to pretend they returned everyone and only looked at last year's squad as a Final Four team. Now they've lost Lucious and while he wasn't good, they really have no depth. And everyone forgets that Kalin Lucas hasn't been that good since his injury.
  9. Troll fail. Or just stupidity, I can't tell which.
  10. Wes Bunting seemed to have different impressions on the QB's.
  11. hmm, now what could cause a bunch of football players to have the same type of muscle damage? Apparently it's an overexertion thing. Stories coming out about how grueling workouts have been since they came back from break last week. If it was steroids I don't think they would be putting out a press release and then leaking what the illness is. 12 players all having the same condition due to overexertion? Uh-huh. Rhabdo is actually something one can get easily w/o supplements (I know 2 people who've gotten it, neither of whom would touch illegal supplements). Strenuous workouts + lack of hydration is what did my friends in too. Admittedly that doesn't discount the possibility of illicit supplements being present. Being that it was after a Monday workout, it wouldn't be surprising if a weekend full of boozing (first weekend back on campus) had them dehydrated already.
  12. Jimmer is ridiculous. They said it came down to Siena and BYU for him, being a mormon made it tough. If Fran landed him he would not be at Iowa this year.
  13. Iowa started great then scored 23 points in the last 23:15. Wayne Larivee once thought that Battle had already made both free throws when he had only shot one. He then sat silently during the 2nd attempt trying to figure out what was happening. Later after Battle hit a shot and Iowa threw away the inbounds pass he and his color guy were going on and on about how that shot must have gone in and out. The color guy called Basabe Wasabe and the entire night he referred to Fran as McCafferty.
  14. Yeah I saw the Vikings are going to interview him but it sounds like his accuracy has been bad this week and he's had major inconsistency. Everyone seems to be saying that Stanzi has been the most impressive North QB.
  15. Possibly. It sounds like being dehydrated and then having excessive activity is a main cause. Being poorly hydrated right when coming back from break wouldn't be a surprise. Especially if they were taking some kind of supplement and not drinking extra water.

I meant that the condition is classified as an overexertion thing. I had never heard of it in my life. I have no idea what the cause is. The stories coming out are that the workouts since coming back from break have been crazy grueling. Could be supplement related.

  18. Are you flipping high? Aaron Rodgers had a QB rating in the 50's yesterday and was fairly ineffective after the first quarter. How the hell is he the reason the Packers advanced past the Bears in the NFC title game, which is where Cutler led his team? He's the guy who has said for a few years that if he had to win one game he wants Big Ben because he's a winner and finds ways to get it done. I don't think that's completely outlandish. He's surely said dumber things than that. Of course but that provides some context for his viewpoint. If QB A's team wins the game, he automatically says that QB A had a better game than QB B. He settles every argument about QB's with "who won the game" and pays no attention to how they actually performed individually.

  20. I'm actually not convinced Rice will re-sign in Minny. But that might be wishful thinking. I just don't think there's any way to really predict what will happen until we know how the CBA works out. From what I've read, it's possible that guys in his situation will be restricted FA's. I don't think he's dying to stay in Minnesota like Greenway and wouldn't be surprised if he leaves. Whether it's the Vikings or someone else, I think you have to be really careful about giving him a huge contract. I love him but he's had 1 good season out of 4 and that came when Favre was playing as well as any QB in the league with the best RB in the game and a really solid slot guy and TE. It also depends on how people think he'll recover from the hip injury. He wasn't the same guy this year when he came back. Whether that's because he came back too soon or a sign of things to come, who knows.
  21. LOL please tell me there are only like 7 votes.
  22. I had him pegged as a 4th-5th round guy before this. I wonder if he'll even get a combine invite or drafted at all now. Today's ruling certainly helps. He's not going to the combine, unless someone drops out and they add him. I think he'll be drafted late though. When this only shows up as a deferred judgment pot charge, it won't drastically drop him.
  23. Yeah, no other student section does anything like that. At all. Ever. Does Iowa even have a student section at basketball games? Don't they give the tickets away free to students and they still don't show up? Maybe he just can't hear Iowa fans getting upset over calls because they aren't at the game? Yes they have a student section. They give away tickets to like 2-3 games per year starting last year. Yes the student section at Iowa for basketball sucks really bad. And none of that has anything to do with your student section being the biggest bunch of idiots in the league. Everyone understands how student sections work. Yours is just the worst because they expect a 10 to 1 ratio of fouls and seem to know absolutely nothing about basketball. It's an epidemic.
  24. There would be a lot of words I would use for that situation in place of tragic. It's not going to happen though.
  25. Boers and Bernstein will be fun tomorrow. The entire show will be meatballs calling in calling Cutler a wuss followed by Bernstein screaming at them for being idiots. People need to stop speculating on him being run out of town. There's no way that will happen. It might end up with him getting Rex treatment from the fans next year though.
