  1. UCF is a weird case, where they were outstanding at the beginning and end of the year, and had a completely unexplainable collapse in the middle. They went 6-10 in Conference USA. The "outstanding at the end of the year" was a 5-2 finish that included two 1-point wins at home, two 3-point wins (one at home) and a 6 point win. I think their start was mainly a function of winning close games against decent teams in the state of Florida and then beating a bunch of patsies. I don't know if they're an at-large consideration for the NIT.

  3. I wish you unpleasant happenings
  4. Yep, I'm guessing that'll be a near consensus. Probably a few votes thrown Battle's way rather than Moore. Maybe Buford? I'd give POY to Johnson. Agreed, pretty clear cut this year. Freshman team? Sullinger, Basabe, Richmond, Hardaway, Craft?
  5. If stars don't matter, why did you make that post last week demonstrating that KSU would be good based simply on height, weight, hometown and star rating? Especially when they were almost all 3 star guys?
  6. Jeff Rabjohns who apparently writes for the Indy Star and on sports talk radio in Indy, says he's heard Lickliter's name mentioned with the Bradley job. Originating in Indy though, I wonder if it's Lick/his peeps putting it out there to get interest.
  7. LOL that was my thought also.
  8. Iowa has offered a 25 year old JUCO player from Maryland (6'5 SF averaging 20 and 10, shooting 60%) who spent 4 years in jail for a robbery when he was 17. Penn State and Rutgers have also offered and Kansas State says they will after they get transcripts. So we've got a coach who earned the nickname Black Magic on the playgrounds in Philly, is an Ivy League graduate and isn't afraid of getting shady. Fran is the man.
  9. Jake Kelly of Iowa fame hits the clinching free throws And they have another dude who looks just like him physically, plays the same way, shares the same first name and instead of being #3 like Kelly, he's #13.
  10. No I think the MVC is a one-bid league this year.
  11. Vikings please. My first two rounds last year would have been solid. I took McCourty in the 1st and Morgan Burnett in the 2nd. The Vikings traded out of the 1st but took a CB (Cook) who was injured and ineffective with their first pick. Safety was maybe the biggest weakness on the team this year and I think Burnett would have had a shot. Don't bother looking at my 3rd round pick. Eek
  12. I'd take the Vikings.
  13. Yeah I'm not sure why UNC wouldn't be in the mix right now depending on next week.
  14. Damn UNC is scary right now. Not many teams that can match their size, plus Barnes has become a legit go-to guy in a big spot and Marshall looks like one of the best distributing PG's in the country. And they defend.
  15. WTF Washington? Now they're going to lose at home to USC?
  16. Yay for Kenneth Faried, boo no Norris Cole.
  17. Spoiler Up clap clap, Spoiler Up clap clap, Spoiler Up
  18. I'll [expletive] those ho's up
  19. I am against Coastal Carolina for at-large. 4 of their wins were against non-D1 teams leaving their record as a less gaudy 24-5. Their only game against a tourney-quality opponent was a 19 point loss to Georgetown. Their highest ranked win (Pomeroy) was #135 East Carolina. They only have 5 Top 200 wins. They're a non-starter for me. Plus they're without a few of the key guys that got them that resume. They're decimated right now, they don't have a chance.
  20. That was awesome. They've been in that position a handful of times this year but haven't been able to close it out, today they finally did. Good for Fran and good for Jarryd Cole. He deserved something like that in his final home game. He wasn't a great player but he just got [expletive] on during his entire career with injuries and coaching bs. He set the tone and made huge clutch plays. Iowa just out-worked Purdue for the most part. At least Iowa and Illinois fans can agree on hating those [expletive] Indiana schools. Seriously [expletive] those guys. Purdue could have been called for 20 fouls in the first half because they're all over you every play. LewJack bumps and rides the entire way down the court then is shocked when it finally gets called. I like Moore and Johnson but Painter just breeds a program with the utmost level of douche involved. Stop [expletive] crying about every call and realize you foul non-stop you goons.
  21. That was just an awful collapse. Lowery was the early front-runner for the Iowa and Michigan jobs in '07, he's taken a nose dive since.
  22. Hey Jordan Taylor, go to the NBA
  23. He's either going to Iowa or the Big 12 so you'll get your fill of him either way. I think KU is recruiting him, but they haven't offered. From what I;ve heard, there's a very good chance he ends up at one of the Oklahoma schools. Supposedly they offered him but it's conditional depending on Taylor and Selby. He has one visit left after Iowa. If he does use it, sounds like it will be KU. He already visited OU and was at OSU last weekend. I'm guessing Oklahoma State but there are some connections and I think Iowa's chances are better after reading the stories in the last couple days.
