  1. Texas newspaper is reporting that Arkansas has had a face-to-face meeting with Tubby Smith in the last week and is close to hiring him.
  2. My favorite part of the bracketology show was Hubert saying "I haven't looked at their numbers. I haven't looked at their RPI or SOS numbers" in regards to UAB and VCU. Yeah not like you get paid to analyze college basketball or have a staff of people who could get those numbers to you within 30 seconds at any point in this past week.
  3. In BYU's current state, I can't pick anyone to get to the Sweet 16 from that 3/14-6/11 group in the Southeast. That entire region is a cluster.
  4. I had to look it up. He's going to be in a Broadway play about an old high school basketball team getting back together with their ailing coach whom they revered and finally learning that he was an ass. Keifer and Gaffigan also star in it so that's why all 3 are in those promo's. No idea why they don't lead it with Sutherland though. I had no idea who Jason Patric was.
  5. Agree on both
  6. Damnit, yes I copied and then moved them around. Hold on I'll edit it.
  7. Ranking the last 22:
  8. It wouldn't shock me. Syracuse won four in four days a few years ago and lost to Vermont in the first round. I had those bastards in the Final Four too. /bitter The year they won the Big East Tournament with McNamara's late shots, they were a 5 seed and lost to A&M. I had picked A&M to get to the Sweet 16, instead that clown shoes team from LSU beat them by one and went to the Final Four. That was Iowa's region when they were a 3 seed. FML
  9. Instead we'll get Jim Nantz in his second week of doing college basketball in the last 11 months.
  10. that's a lot more accurate than digger usually is Earlier today when talking about Izzo's amazing coaching job, said they were beaten by 20 by Iowa 2 weeks ago then he got them to bounce back at the end of the year and beat Iowa big at home. The game was played on February 2nd.
  11. Rank the next set of S-Curve teams from 1-16 (Illinois reps leave out Illinois, of course): 2) Rank the remaining 15 at-larges. In the case of bid theft by non-at-large candidates, the lowest in this list will get bumped off the board. 3) Rank the bottom 12 auto-bids from the remaining unplaced bids, the aggregate bottom 8 of which will go into the bottom of the S-Curve.
  12. Read about that. St. Mary's wants another win for their resume, Weber State agreed to it because this game will be the difference in allowing one of their best players to qualify for a medical redshirt. Without scheduling this he was below the benchmark.
  13. Teach me how to Jimmer
  14. He's really effing good. He was really under-recruited out of high school. Iowa's long-time RB coach who is now retired loved him. Ferentz talked about how they loved his film and couldn't figure out why he wasn't getting more attention. As Ryno said his true freshman year he was really solid as a true freshman backing up Shonn Greene and seemed to take on Greene's running style as the year went on. Missed all of '09 with the ACL so we had two use two freshman all year. Last year coming out of camp the players and coaches were raving about him. Former player I'm friends with was hearing that he was more explosive and stronger than before the injury. Looked a little rusty his first game back against ISU, then really looked good against Arizona before going down with the knee again. He ran with a really shady crew from everything I heard and the dismissal was supposedly for refusing to take a drug test because he knew he would fail and it wasn't a first offense. If he's healthy and stays out of trouble he should be the best back in that conference.
  15. This is our setup for March: http://yfrog.com/h3sifyrj
  16. 1) Rank the following 12 in order for the next 8 spots on the S-curve: 2) Rank the next 12 teams from auto bids/at-large for placement on the S-Curve. 3) Rank the top 12 teams in consideration for potential at-large pool placement. 4) Rank the bottom 16 teams in consideration for removal (there are more to remove than to place). 5) Rank the bottom 12 auto-bids (placeholder teams in parentheses for conferences not yet done with tournaments) for placement at the bottom of the S-Curve.
  17. Good, the Davis family can rot. Well that seems harsh
  18. I know it gets said almost every year but wow the bubble is especially weak this year. What's killing me is the 5 seed range, most of those teams aren't good. I feel like everyone should be put in the 7-10 range.
  19. We just got our Blackhawks jersey's on Monday from tarajerseys, ordered about a month ago or so. Quality appears to be great. Fits alright but I should have ordered up a size for a hockey jersey.
  20. Yeah on their last podcast Gottlieb and Katz were talking about that. Gottlieb thinks Capel is gone. They were talking about how Gillispie would be a great fit at Texas Tech and Gottlieb said that Billy is telling people he's going to get the Oklahoma job.
  21. Scott Drew should be hiding his face in shame. That team is a joke.
  22. Eek, that drag queen Oklahoma cheerleader does basketball games also. Sounds like Capel could be fired.
  23. That was as egregious as it gets. Hopefully this stains Higgins and Burr long-term but it won't.
  24. 12 for elimination: Top 12 consideration Top 14 overall Next 8
